I had the honor of meeting her in person and she is truly one of the most down to earth people I've ever met. Nothing but raw passion for the sport and the community that surrounds it. Very humble.
+1. Same experience here. Great with young fans and a true ambassador of the sport for the USA.

Unlike Christian Taylor and Justin Gatlin who also had bye's into the World Championships, Coburn came to win and honor being a US national champion. But what is really prompting this thread is that after the race when the official came and gave the top three steeplers an American flag, she didn't grab hers and run around and bask in the glory of her win. Instead she asked for a fourth flag and when there wasn't one she immediately gave hers to Allie O the fourth place finisher who also qualified. That is class.
Thanks for reading my tweet, dude! Would've been nice to be credited.

Yeah but does she have to wear such short shorts and show off her midriff? Disappointed that she couldn't be a little bit more modest. Some loose fitting pants and long-sleeve shirt would be much more appropriate for a nationally televised event.
Y'all get way to offended from seeing a woman's legs. Do you sexualize everything on a woman's body? Maybe if you learned to treat a woman as a person and not an object you want to get with you'd realize there is nothing wrong with her attire.

My immediate impression was that someone handed her something, she looked,
saw it was a freaking flag and was thinking WTF. Then she gave it to Allie simply to get rid of it.
I was thinking well good for you, I would have done the same thing.

Class act is the perfect description of her . Just a ferocious competitor. You can make a good argument that no American distance runner has been as good at his or her event .
Doesn’t Frerichs still hold the record?
loose fitting pants? really? wrote:

Agreed. This kind of clothing should be outlawed in public. I don't care what your personal politics are, but please don't shove your way of life down my throat.
Don't watch if you are offended. Pretty simple...
