Where has Garrett Heath been?
They should have never dropped Cas Loxsom.
I never want to come in and add garbage to the pile...but this is a group that seems to have good funding and resources, but just can't get over the hump (and please don't use the Indoor World Championships as an example).
From a few different podcasts I've heard w/ Danny Mackey...it just seems as if they don't do the same level of work as Bowerman Track Club, or NOP, or even OTC.
Now, I don't have any inside knowledge to EXACTLY what they do in training...but I feel like it's time to stop trying to train smarter, and start training harder.
Have heard many trustworthy sources saying they spend in the ballpark of $2,000,000 in their athletes and support people. It may not be as much as NOP or BTC, but they are 3rd best funded group by a lot. Allie O can thank Emma Coburn for her spot and Danny can thank Corey Ihmels for her performance. The group was saved with their time trial meet they set up in Seattle.
If you could choose to run for Tinman Elite or Brooks Beasts, which would you choose?

The one who would give me an actual contract. Can't live on social media content. Beasts all the way to the bank.

I’d go with Brooks if they had a coach that was better than Danny. Someone with an actual proven record.
Didn't they go 5-6 in the 1500 with Wynne and Yorks? One spot away from worlds as they both had standard. Not bad for an up and coming group.

An up-and-coming group? They've been around for quite a while now and have very little to show for it from a WC or Olympic qualifier perspective. They have some very good talent and while Wynne, Yorks and Ostrander did quite well this week, they continue to lack the next step when it comes to qualifying. I truly question whether Danny Mackey can actually coach athletes up.
Where is Drew Windle?
The talent level in the Nike groups is still just a cut above what Beasts have so I don't think your criticism is fair. I guarantee you that BTC and NOP are throwing way more money towards their programs than Brooks is, and it shows by the caliber of athletes that they draw in. Brazier was a 1:43 guy before Nike even signed him. Murphy got a bronze medal at the olympics the summer after his last NCAA season. Centro won a Bronze medal at the 2011 world champs while he was still a collegiate athlete. All Nike had to do was not screw these guys up and they still would be contenders to win USAs for the entirety of their careers.
The only athlete of this caliber that Brooks has is Kerr, and if he happened to be American he very possibly could have won that 1500m race today. It's not like Mackey's athletes have been going backwards since college. Most of them have set PRs since joining the group. It's just that they're up against athletes that were already better than them before going pro, and who have also continued to make improvements as well.
Beasts are super funded and really tired listening to those arguments. Who was a better miler in college (Wynn NCAA Champion and Yorks 3:53 Indoors VS. Josh Thompson who broke 3:40 one time)?

Beasts finished 6-7.
Eric Avila also best them. Would be surprised if he is on more than $15k contract. Thompson maybe $30k. Both Beasts at least $80k.
They will have zero American athletes in Tokyo. That stinks
I think Danny is a good coach BUT The Beasts are exclusively a Track Team.
They deliver no press during marathon season. Unlike other groups.
They provide no road race presence. Which is where the hobby joggers see the product. Unlike other groups.
They provide no story during cross-country season.
They are a one-trick pony.
This means they MUST have a presence in WC and Olympics with American athletes.
Kerr is a great athlete but not having him at US Championships makes him way less marketable.
I've heard Avila is on $40k and Josh is on $20k.
But still, both the guys have run what this outdoor season?? 3:41?
Just strong closers??

I disagree. Allie O. will make the team for either the 5k or the 10k. She will drop doing the steeple. Just watch.

At this point with the level of coaching based on results of athletes in the club, Allie may end up going backwards.
Not so sure this was a great choice for her.
She is talented and has a great future, no matter the distance.
If this was real sports Mackey would be fired.
