I see nothing wrong with this. If it gets more people interested in running, it's not a bad thing.
Either that or you'll have people thinking running is a joke. The guy who put this whole thing on and claims to be the fastest youtuber fakes and injury so he doesn't have to run and get beat. A guy running around in a hamburger costume and acting like he's insane. A girl doing a runway show during the mile and walking away with a 3rd place medal.

I disagree. These stars are more representative of the population as a whole, with physiques more commonly seen in the population as a whole. They are more relatable in that sense. Not genetic freaks of nature with waif-like distance runner or elite shredded sprinter builds.
If anything, it may have the effect of spawning more similar events. which is good publicity for running.
Probably the cleanest track meet I have ever watched online.
would you look at that wrote:
Some dude just won his 400m heat with a 56 lololol
Dude...56 seconds is not a bad time for someone who isn't an actual competitive runner type. This is the Challenger Games, not the NCAA Division 2 championships....
Or more likely all the kids watching this will go right back to Fortnite when it's over and forget the whole thing ever happened.
It's easy to dismiss the 56 second 400 meter or 5:06 mile when running is your life...but those times are excellent for those who aren't serious runners.
The announcer said the temperature down on the track is 146 degrees....sorry, but a 5:06 mile in 146 degrees is GREAT for anyone.

Let's not pretend like anything that has come out of the announcers' mouths has been accurate information.

Where's the plus one guy when you need him?
Nah, as vain as some of these youtubers are, some of these dudes definitely juice to get big in the weight room.

I'd like to order a 24-count case of Haterade from ya.
the bro's showed how to "bro" a mile. 28 seconds through 200. 60 through 400. 2:30 through 800. 4:00 through 1200. haha.

I didn’t watch. Are they better than flotrack? Production better?
Some guy ran like 11 flat or just under in the 100m
The person before was talking about the production. It was kind of messy, but actually for something thrown together that they probably have never ever done before, it wasn't terrible.
The stream was smooth, and they managed to move through the entire event without completely botching the whole thing. They actually had plenty of cameras and angles, but sometimes were bad about getting the right action on screen. Multiple times they'd have the announcers on screen, realize they just started a heat and then cut to the race after it was halfway done. Also they could barely get their graphics and lineups together, and they didn't have any graphics for official results and times, etc. A lot of the time they didn't even know who was who on the track unless it was one of the big youtubers or their friend. The announcers went back and forth between acknowledging how terrible some of these kids were and joking about it, which was actually kind of funny, to just being downright terrible with inaccurate information and being generally clueless about track and running. The rest was just them fluffing up their fellow youtube stars.
But that 100m. I think they "officially" called it an 11.02 which blew the doors off of everyone else. That's like a middle school winning time. And the announcers were calling him the fastest man on the planet and that he should be on the Olympic team.
11 flat is very good. Which youtuber ran that? Was it Deestroyer or someone else?

Deeestroying ran 11.09
http://finishedresults.trackscoreboard.com/#/results/meet/9130/event/8/FinalOverall even Jake Paul didn't do THAT bad. 12 seconds is not a slouch time by any means. Not very good but not bad either.
