Devon Williams and Solomon Simmons get the standard, Harrison Williams just misses it.
Heroic final run by Williamson. Too bad.
Simmons is a beast and a half.
I wonder if Harrison Williams had just stopped after clearing 5.3 in pole vault if he would have had just a little more to gain those 12 points in the jav. Seems like you just need to take the 5.30 (especially considering it was a PR and he got it on 3rd attempt) and save some energy for the last two events.
The Pistorius resolution was that he murdered his girlfriend and removed himself from the sport six months after the London Olympics, where he conned the world.

Why are Allie O and Courtney Frierichs not pulling back a bit? Top 5 go through
If Mel beats Allie for 4th in the finals, I'll completely blame it on that prelim effort.
Allie usually ran faster than that in her prelims in college and ended up doing all right in the finals.
There is a benefit in holding back a little. There is also benefit in remaining unbeaten against the runner you need to beat to make WCs.

Brazier puts an end to Hopple's win streak.
Qualifying doesn't count. If he wins the final, is the streak back on?

If he beats that field, his contract offers will be so fat that his next streak will be for laughing his way to the bank.

Per Garry Hill and T&FN, they do NOT count prelims when compiling streaks.
