They are but only if you’re not a moron. If you’re a moron, you should probably stick to Midwest or Southeast USA
Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit. I took the midnight train going anywhere.
Exactly! I lived in Austin from the 80s through 2003. The negative changes were already starting then and have gone unfettered since. I return to visit friends/family about once a year and each time more landmark places have shut down to make way for corporate-hipster-inspired garbage. The growth has been incredible, in a bad way. Meanwhile, the infrastructure has lagged far behind and the traffic and cost of living are crazy. Yes, it’s still a nice, fun town overall compared to most US cities.. But Austin is really meant to be a medium size town and not a bigger city. A lot of the genuine charm has been killed - a casualty of progress, I suppose.

Agree 100% - Dallas is horrible. Flat, boring, showy, no natural attractions. Terrible weather. Whoever said previously that heat/humidity are never an issue is out of his mind. I lived in TX for almost 20 years and spent lots of time in Dallas. The weather is garbage. Months on end of mid to upper 90s with 30-50% humidity. Violent storms with tornado watches all spring and early summer. Sleet and black ice in the winter. Really windy all the time. It sucks there. Yes, it’s cheap compared to places like San Francisco. There’s a reason for that besides the politics.

The person who said every city is overrated could not possibly have been to Florence (Firenze), Italy.
Lol every popular Italian city is overrated bigly. The underrated are where less basic azz tourists go, like Turin etc.
Agree with most people that Dallas is a miserable city. My brother has lived there for the past 20 years. The only enjoyable visit I had was when we went to Fort Worth. You know a city is boring when their biggest tourist attraction is where JFK got assassinated.
However, I will say I had a coworker that worked in Dallas for 10 years and really enjoyed it. He said, "best t!tty bars anywhere! And they have private clubs where prostitution is basically legal! And all the women out there have big fake t!tties."
So, if that's your thing, maybe you'd love Dallas.
Thoughts on Pittsburgh?
not overrated
Kingston, Memphis, Macon, Panama City
Mobile, AL underrated.
