You should move to the Raleigh/Durham Research Triangle area. You express just the hipster inbred ideas that fit in so well there. You are a renaissance man and being a renaissance man you know you could also be a woman.
hipster ideas like what? reading?
Don't you have an HOA meeting to go to?
Small towns are amazing, cities are amazing, the suburbs are like Applebee's, the best at absolutely nothing. Most people aren't there because they actually love them, they just end up there out of convenience and then they defend them out of necessity. It's where the non-risk takers end up, coasting through life on a riding lawnmower, trying to convince themselves they are having a great time.
In defense of suburbs, some cities have nature where you can be closer to it. So instead of hearing the obnoxious noise from the 20 something parties and awful emo folk music, you get peaceful quiet and great morning runs in the forest and hills. It allows you to make city money and have access to nature. Obviously some cities dont have nature within 50 mile radius, but if youre fortunate enough to live in a green area, its the best of both worlds. The trade off is the commute, although this is changing with remote work trends. Affordability is another benefit if you decide you want to own a home. And suburbs are kid friendly, again, if you decide that you want kids.
