We're continuing this thread from the spring. We had a solid group trying to break the 2hr30 barrier in the Marathon. A couple of us tried our chances at Boston while others went for it at Grandmas. Ultimately we had someone break that barrier, shouts to immunorunner for doing it!
Regardless of breaking the barrier or not, it was a great thread that kept us motivated and brought great discussions.
So here we go!
I faced a rough achilles injury about 8 weeks out from Boston and ended up with a 2:34:46 for my second marathon. My next attempt is Columbus where I'm hoping to smash that barrier and hopefully finish deep in the top 10.
Started my program two weeks ago, this was my last week of training:
M: AM: Easy 4 miles
T: AM: 10.11 miles, 60 minutes easy with 6x30"/1' off, PM: Easy 5 miles
W: AM: 3 mile easy, 3 mile easy tempo (5:48, 5:48, 5:42), 1 mile easy, 4x60 seconds uphill/jog back, 4x30 seconds flat/jog back, 3 mile cooldown PM: 3.08 miles easy
TH: AM: Easy 4 miles PM: 8.70 miles
F: PM: 9.64 miles, 60 minutes easy with 6x30"/1' off
S: 2 mile w/u, 3 mile race (5:10, 5:08, 4:57), 8 mile c/d

Who else is chasing the barrier this fall?
Where are you doing it?
As with the last thread, share your workouts, thoughts, and let's get running!
