Not a bad result for Hassan, we expect something magical from her every time she races this year. A European record is no disgrace. People underestimate Obiri at their peril.

Could we see two women under 10.90 and another 2 under 11 sec in the 100?
I don’t see any problem with the rabbit finishing the race, providing they have met their pacing requirements. If they deliberately fail to meet their pacing lap times then they don’t get paid and their race result is not recorded. There is provision for that to happen, something about an athlete not genuinely racing.

A Chinese woman also ran 8:06 3k and 4 of the top 5 3k of all time are from Chinese women. I'd wait for the results of doping control first before we hype anything here.
China hasn't been a great T&F country since the introduction of tests.
That being said, China is a huge country so chances are that out of the billion people some great athletes will be born. I'd say we should just monitor this guy for now.

He absolutely crispred the rest of the field.
To be fair, he's been consistent for quite some time now here in China. National record holder before this as well.

I was thinking the same thing, those can't be lap to lap
Maybe they measure the splits off of the first non-rabbit?
Speaking of which, did the 3rd rabbit (Gloriah Kite) finish the race? The results make her appear as though she was a rabbit through 3k. If so, that sort of bothers me. It seems like a conflict of interest if she decides she wants to finish the race and maybe purposely slows things down in the middle, which may suit her just fine (for a 14:50 runner) but hurts the runners she's supposed to be pacing to a fast time (sub 14:20). I assume you get paid to be a rabbit. Is there a stipulation that if you finish the race you forfeit any payment for rabbiting?
Rachel Schneider once was rabbiting a 1500 or mile but felt good and kept going. She ran outside at lane 2 all the time and hit a huge PR. That PR ended up lasting like 5 years or something.
So if a rabbit is feeling good, just go for it. Happens in marathons too, some have even been won by rabbits already.
How nice was it to see an all-women’s 800? Racist meet director wouldn’t let the men run too?
@aussie
Lol.
I have merely pointed out why your argument as to why Samba and Benjamin is clearly better than Warholm is wrong.
What on earth has race to do with anything?

19.88 is an excellent time but it's not on the same planet as 8:06. It was also run in a DL meet with testing, not somewhere in China with no one from the outside present. Doesn't mean he is not doping, but the result no more suspicious then many others at this point.
