We have one hoity-toity neighborhood that is notorious for drivers yelling at - and even swerving towards - runners.
What would you do?
Sadly, I don't think there is a productive way to react beyond making sure you don't get hit. Yelling at the driver, giving them the finger or even smacking the side of their car just makes the driver even crazier and more likely to run over another runner, biker or pedestrian as they peel away from you at 100 miles per hour.
At my best I just try to think of cars as a force of nature that I have to dodge for my own safety.
Some people are completely crazy. I was parking at a shop and this 70 year old guy was pulling into a space, but part of his car was poking out into the main road, it was so dangerous and he was taking ages and going forward and reversing over and over, so I beeped him. He got out of the car, just left it there, and was walking towards me juddering like some kind of zombie and he was shaking in anger, it was so weird, he started shouting at me and raising his fist... some women came over and were like "are you OK?" and I wound the window down and said I don't know what's wrong with him. I then pointed to the cameras and said "you're on CCTV you know" and he went away.
