Gig Harbor to Issaquah wrote:
Every morning at 4:45 I pile into a van with a bunch of weirdos and ride 65 miles from my small town to Issaquah, WA. It takes 75-90 min to get there and a minimum of 2.5-3 hours to get back when you count the 30 min waiting for the van. This is the cost of living with my dad to save $$ rather than have a life. Precious hours of life wasted sitting in traffic on I-5 and I—405. I’m rich a f*ck for someone of my stature though.
Your return trip probably trumps this, but my dad does Quilcene to Bothell via the Edmonds/Kingston Ferry. He splits between: Drive home to ferry, park car, walk down to ferry, ride across, walk off to another parked car in Edmonds, drive to work. Reverse. Or: drive 30min to ferry, park car, wait for van pool, ride van pool on ferry across all the way to Bothell.
Minimum 90min each way if he drives his two cars. But he loves where he lives
