I kinda figured his size would be an issue. To me, he always looked like a tubby kid in a tall body whose size was only masked because of his height.

Can't wait for him to start a thread on here about this injustice.
Didn't the nba season just end last month? I thought training camp was to get players in shape.

I call him "the baby fat assassin."

LMAO, POTD.
I have said it in other threads, but I have a feeling that Zion is going to suffer a devastating injury due to his weight. Recall he ripped out of a shoe while changing directory, only a matter of time before that ends up being his ACL or achillies. Too much force for the human body to take over a long period of time.
I thought it was agreed in another thread that he was a world class athlete and could definitely run a sub-5 mile. I guess he's now a 5:02 miler.
I agree with you and have been saying the same thing all year. An 82 game season playing against grown men will be brutal if not impossible for him.
I have been a huge defender of Zion against the doubters and was glad he proved them wrong all season.
I also think he was slimmer than his listed 285 for much of the season, he looked pretty cut honestly, i'd say 270-275 max and wasn't worried at all about weight.
but damn.......it's not as if he is too big to play right now, but seem slike he went from 275 to 300 in a like 2 days....not a good sign.
I think he's got the work ethic to make it work, but I have to admit i'm a little bit worried long term now. I think he'll be fine for a couple years but if his team is no good its easy to see the motivation slipping just a bit, not working quiet as hard to keep at playing weight and not having the long term career he could have. hope i'm wrong though....
Probably should slim down some, but fat Zion looked okay in his brief summer league appearance.

Manu Ginobli blew out his Nikes on a cut and he played until he was 40.

4 dunks in 9 mins ain't bad for someone completely out of shape. He could probably go 18-9 being out of shape
I'm just worried about the added stress on his joints etc...
He could probably go 18-9 in the NBA right now even being out of shape
I kinda want to see the 26-12-4-2 blks-1 stl- 60% fg round-mound of Antetokounmpo MVP candidate version though....
it's kinda funny that the closest comparison state-wise to peak zion might be giannis, who is entirely the opposite body type

I have the same worry. He has amazing skills and is really fun to watch. I hope he has a long and highlight-filled NBA career, but it's very easy to have careers cut short by injury. Eg, Bernard King, Grant Hill, etc.
Kinda looks like he plays with barbies.
He's going to have a hard time cutting weight living in New Orleans with the food there. Best food city in the country.

Not quite the same comparison. Sir Charles had a lot of muscle under that fat. Zion is just a plain ol' fat fck that needs to do some serious conditioning at the gym.
Lmao everyone here clearly didn't watch him play in college.
He played high intensity basketball, both sides of the floor, above the rim for 35+ min a game in college.
One of the greatest athletes I've seen play. Moves like he weighs 40lbs less than he does. Tremendous energy.
