So I am focusing on the 5/10k and recently ran a half in 1:16 thus time qualifying for NYCM. My weekly mileage is at about 80mi with the normal two workouts one long run setup and my PRs are 16:30 and 35:12 after about a year of running (mid-20s, male).
Would it hurt to sign up and just run it as a longer long run for the experience at ~6:40 or so? I don’t plan to focus on the marathon anytime soon but since I am living in NY this may be fun and easy to do.
