Godzilla vs Destroyah
I’m not proud of it, but the ending is just really touching and I cry every time I watch it.
Plus ... Godzilla, so it’s a great date movie.

Macfarland
Borat
I watched "the way we were" tonight, the first time for many years.
Having been through a long relationship ending in death, it is a very heart wrenching movie for me.
Soylent Green
The Waterboy when it ended because it was so awesome!
Dark Victory
It’s not a movie but The Wonder Years final episode reduces me to a quivering wreck.
The moment you hear how Kevin’s life plays out is the moment you realise how precious time is and that sometimes bad things just happen even to good people. Hearing his dad died soon after college was a punch to my heart and made me realise that one day I’d lose my own dad.
And then of course it happened to me in real life too.
I still look back and wonder how awesome that show truly was!
i laughed until i cried at the sight of Danny DeVito's butt (the Penguin) in Batman Returns.

Ha! I remember your affection for "Tender Mercies," which really is a beautiful little film. And I, too, am moved to tears when I watch (or even recite the dialogue of) the ending of "Ordinary People," with Donald Sutherland and Timothy Hutton sitting on the doorsteps after mom (played by Mary Tyler Moore in a stunning but thankless performance) has left the house.
Another that always gets me is Paul Thomas Anderson's "Magnolia." A couple of old classics come to mind -- Bresson's "Au Hasard Balthasar" and Kurosawa's "Ikiru." A number of performances by some of my favorite actors, Sidney Portier ("To Sir With Love," "A Patch of Blue"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("Love Liza"), Dustin Hoffman ("Midnight Cowboy" -- and, at least in my younger years, "The Graduate"). "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Some animated made-for-televison films -- "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" and some of the Peanuts specials.
Lots of them, I guess. But I'm brutal on many of the more popular tearjerkers.

Jaysus, you ARE old. Some of these are in black and white.
Why not "Birth of a Nation," too?

I am guessing he is 73.
I saw ordinary people years ago in the theater and the picture scene I still remember vividly. Very well directed, you felt the tension and angst of the characters.

Grand Torino
Passion of the Christ

Tracktown turned most all of you into sniffling crybabies. Has to be in the mix for Top 3. (Like a single one of us could do better)
Ghost - when Swayze finally left
Grand Torino - when Sue was raped
Passion of the Christ - the crucifixion
Insatiable - when John Holmes left Marilyn gasping for more

I write:
No I'm not. I'm 73.
Congratulations for knowing that TWO of them are black and white. I still love black and white movies.
