where is Coevett to explain to me why Jakob didn't break 3:30 ....??....?

Cheruiyot mixing up the tactics - good practice. Looked strong at the end.
Jakob doesn't even look like he's trying. much like Ajee.
Holy shite, Jakob to the lead with 450 to go!! Tim comes around on the backstretch. Another sun 3:30 for Cheriuyot, Jakob holds on for 2nd. Great race!
That 1500 was INCREDIBLE. So cool.
1) Cheruiyot passes the rabit 500 in
2) Jakob paces Cheuriyot before the bell.
3) Cheruiyot blows them away.
I don't know why hutchings is complaining about this. HE's showing that he can win a race with no rabbits. He basically gave everyone in the field a perfect rabbit and they couldn't beat him.
8 under 3.32.
Another amazing race in Monaco.
But I guess the Lausann race was just a little too fast.
That incident in the 400m is simply symptomatic of the seemingly arbitrary enforcement of the false start rules over the last decade.
HOW is this not a DQ? Its not a "flinch" or a "wobble" that sometimes athletes get called for - its a reaction time infraction of which the rule is so clear.
Right now if I am a sprinter there is simply no way I step off the track if I false start. Why would I? And the worst thing is that 2 athletes ran an entire race (how the f%$k aren't there officials out there to stop the race at at least 150m?!) for nothing. Unreal.
Good run by Jakob. The CWR lives to see another day. And, sadly, it looks like Kwemoi's fraudulent "junior" WR remains.
Nice to see Jakob consistently owning the "young" Manangoi too.
People need to stop letting Potatoes get that far ahead. And Lew needs to get his tactics right by Worlds.
STEWY MCSWEYN WITH A 3 SEC PB AS WELL3:31.81
A bit disappointing overall except Grice who is having the best season of his career

My thoughts exactly. Let everyone back in it with a slow 3rd lap and then went to work.

Cheruiyot reminded me a lot of peak Kiprop in this race... so fit that he can play around with giving up the lead and still having enough gas to kick for the win in the end. Grice and Mcsweyn picked up some nice PBs as well
Looked like Tim intentionally slowed down after the pacer dropped, costing the whole field a shot at a fast time. Maybe wanted to test out his kick in preparation for Worlds, but it was strange to see after he was passing the pacer early.

Lol, badly paced race, Jakob now just half-a-second behind Tim, and brilliant performance from Charlie Grice. I think that makes him fastest ever Brit behind Cram, Coe, Ovett, and the doorbell.
Thank heavens for Tim or Kenya would be going home even more devastated than they are.
Imagine if Josh Kerr had been in that field? Probably would have ran 3:30 as well.
My prediction was pretty spot on aside from the time. NOBODY here predicted those times.
Jakob said during an interview on NRK that he was really satisfied with his run.
Being able to run two times under 3.31 already this season makes him believe that he still has more to give.
Overall he said the race was a positive experience.
Not too bad to be 18 and the second best 1500 runner in the world........

well since Jakob was only .4 seconds away from the proclaimed worlds best runner and who is proclaimed to be able to go 3:26, it would seem Jakob is ready for a 3:27, if not 3:26 mid?
I don't think you realize the Africans didn't want Jakob beating Farahs mark, and idn't want Jakob to end up top 5 of all time. It would look bad for them. They did everything they could to prevent that.
I think he slowed because he was in poor position to set a PB. Getting the win became the important objective. I don't think he expected to get passed by Jakob and I don't think Jakob made a legal pass tbh. It was a good time to test his kick and control a race.

Yes, I agree, those two certainly have quite a bit in common..............
Anyone for a cup of tea?

I think he has a moral obligation not to mess up others' potential for fast times in the one race a year it's well set up for it, just so he can get one more DL win.
Told you about Grice. Thought he might steel the show at one point!
