I'm definitely going after them. I've got enough running shoes, but I like the way they look so I'm interested in them for casual use. I like them more than the Fuelcell Echo, which is supposed to be the casual one of the bunch, but those just look like knockoff Epic Reacts.
Great shoe. Very smooth, relatively light, soft, responsive, and a very nice fit. I tried this and the Hoka Rincon, and this was WAY better. The Propel will make a very nice daily trainer. It isn't a fast shoe for me, but it is very smooth and stable. It is still pretty light though, as a don't like heavy shoes. The other daily trainers I like are the Epic React and Reebok Forever Floatride Energy.
You will like this shoe Steve. Nice bouncy midsole, but very smooth and stable without feeling clunky at all. The Hoka Rincon felt much clunkier.
Hi Ahwahatthecheese and others,
Checked them out today, what a great shoe. Went for short jog around and outside the store - compared the Hoka Clifton 6 (to soft and bulky), the NB 1080 v9, ( okay but a bit firm and slower than Propel) and the Propel as you said soft responsive, comfortable and fairly light. Had $30 voucher so bought them. Went for short run at home comparing the Reebok Forever and the NB propel, The propel is a little softer underfoot and a little more cushioned and just as responsive maybe a touch less breathable. This shoe is a winner. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

Hi Ahwhatthechese,
Did you get your normal size - did you find it true to size? I am wondering if mine is a touch big.
Cheers
Steve
These are all too roomy for anyone with narrow feet. Tried them and wished they fit but too much play
Yeah, they fit about perfect for me true to size. They are fairly wide at the base, but the upper isn't as wide as the base. Still fairly wide though. Length seems perfect. My feet aren't wide and they seem to fit perfect in my normal size.
They are not big like Reebok Forever Floatride Energy. 9.5 in Propel and 9 in Forever.
My one wish would be that the upper was a bit thinner and lighter.
Yes the upper may get a little hot in summer. Hopefully not as hot as the NB Beacon 1. I ended up putting a few small holes at the front of the beacon so they breathed better.
Did you run in the Hoka Rincon at all? I heard they quite a fast and well cushioned light shoe. Were they soft/firm ? Is the only reason you didn't get it as they were a bit cluncky. Any other thoughts on the rincon, other advantages you found the Propel over the Rincon. Do you prefer running in the Reebok forever or the NB Propel. Thanks
Cheers
Steve
The Rincon felt clunky, kinda slappy when midfoot striking, and the midsole was uninspiring. The midsole just felt like a big, light block of foam. It is a good cushion to weight ratio, but I feel like you get just as much cushioning at the weight with a lower stack in something like the Epic React. The midsole doesn't feel dynamic and responsive. It just feels like a big light block of foam. Basically, I feel like Hoka has to put a high stack of shitty foam to get the cushioning of a lower stack with newer better foams. And the newer better foams are smoother, softer, and more responsive.
The upper fit is also a hot mess. It is surprisingly narrow for how wide the midsole base is, and it is way to narrow at the ball of the foot. My foot isn't even wide.
Agreed on rincon, almost restricting in ball of foot area. Tried loose and tight but they were no good. It sure what all he fanfare is about
Hi Ahwhatthecheese,
How is the NB propel going? Do you prefer the NB Propel or the Reebok Forever ? Have you found much difference between the two shoes?
Cheers
Steve
I bought this shoe and I like it a lot. Light and fast
I bought a pair of rincons last week on a whim and have worn them twice. They’re also very light but have a lot more cushion and bounce than the NB shoes. I found that my legs felt less beat up b/c of the more cushioning. I will use these for longer training runs. These also are my first pair of jokes.

Depends. They are about the same weight. The Reeboks are better for faster running. The New Balances are better for recovery running. NB is wider and more stable.

Oh man, that doesn't say much for the Propel then. The Reebok Forevers feel awful to fun fast in.
Not really. The Propels are actually a very nice, smooth, easy going, recovery type shoe that doesn't feel heavy.
Hi,
I am loving the Propels, it has become more my daily trainer. I actually prefer it over the reebok forever as it has seems to have more cushioning for longer runs and its better than the Reebok harmony road 3 as its more flexible faster shoe.
Cheers

Looks like New Balance outbid Reebok for stevenn's shilling.
anyone have both the rebel and the propel?
