As a matter of fact, I am not a hobby jogger. Was professional for quite some time. I believe there is much placebo with EPO and believe some of what Canova says about impact on trained elite athletes born and living and training at altitude. In my experience, drugs cannot fix biomechanics and natural ability. In that case, then you could be a world record holder. You cannot, because that is not how drugs work. Also, the main benefit of Actovegin is recovery from injury. That is #1. You get back from injury faster. But guess what, you were still injured. Drugs do not prevent injuries. Training is what separates the elite of the elite. Look at Kamworor this weekend defeat all Kenyans, in Kenya, at altitude, running 27:50 with 2nd place in 28:30. Absolute crushing the competition. He is a running freak among freaks, all things being equal including doping. You need to understand this.

If anyone thinks Usain Bolt ran 9.58 simply because of EPO is blind. The guy is the fastest human ever - physiologically. Same thing with El Guerrouj. What drugs cannot do is make perfect biomechanics. Once you understand this, you will understand athletics.
You're a hobby jogger like most of us here aren't you?
Of course drugs can help perfect biomechanics. Drugs can make you train for longer and more often at your target pace. Doing that would improve your biomechanics in a race. Even I know that.
