An assumed jumper by people who saw the body after the fact. No one saw any jump.
Geez.
You are contradicting yourself.
"We only know he did not drown."
Now you know that no one saw the jump?

Sorry for that typo.
While all this was going on the Marathon Investigator Guy was more than happy to talk to whatever media called him. Even took interviews at work.
Now media outlets are trying to contact him and he refuses to talk with them.

To provide some clarification and elaboration which may prove fruitless in terms of attempting to enlighten the unwashed masses, and many of you appear to be unwashed:
IF Caster Semenya killed herself, would you blame this website? IF Suzy Favor Hamilton killed herself, would you blame this website? IF Galen Rupp or Alberto Salazar killed themselves, would you blame this website? The absurdity of assigning any causal relationship to a suicide will be apparent to the intelligent. I have some experience with this, and the same void or psychiatric disturbance which would have provided the impetus to cheat in a marathon is impossible to cleanly disentangle from a predisposition to self harm or end one’s life.
Dr. Meza obviously cared way too much what people thought about him. This is not that uncommon but it is giving up way too much of one’s own power. I was a much faster runner than Dr. Meza, but it is utterly meaningless to me as I post this. IF you are empty inside before a great achievement, you will likely remain empty inside subsequently. It is very easy to feel that one is more important than one is. IF my girlfriend kills her self, it is not likely due to me, and the relationship between Dr. Meza and this message board is MUCH more tenuous. IF some of you feel that too much sociopathic behavior occurs here, that is a valid opinion, but the death of Dr. Meza should have precious little bearing on one’s stance on this subject. I have some empathy for Dr. Meza, as he may have done much more good in this world than most of us, and whatever emptiness he had inside was likely due to factors outside his control which had their genesis in his formative years. Many of us have condemned and disparaged others online much as we have been rude while driving as we all have our demons. But remember that this website is simply not that important in the scheme of things, and it has very limited power to impact one’s decision to be or not to be.
You guys are so self important. You really think it was the thread that pushed him over? Thread had been up for ages and nothing. Day after he gets formally banned by LA, he dies. Major newspapers called him out as a cheat. All his friends found out. It’s not because some basement dwelling letsrun nerd called him out,
I’m not defending some of the garbage on that thread by any means, but it seems far more likely that he died once he formally lost his record and was publicly ridiculed by ACTUAL MEDIA as opposed to because someone saying something mean on a niche running website inaccessible to 99.2% of the worlds population. And make no mistake, with or without the thread, he would have been caught-he set a world record, ofc he’s going under scrutiny, this isn’t a Rossi scenario, He would have had the press. And it’s quite probable he would have chose to end it. I hope his 70 years were full of love and that his family have plenty to remember him by, not tarred by this brief blip at the end of his life.

Agreed. Catching a few age group cheats is more important than avoiding occasional suicides.

No surprise. He is likely lawyering up.
NY Post article:
“Meza was found dead after a business analyst in Ohio named Derek Murphy who runs a website called MarathonInvestigation.com published an exhaustive post in late May that purported to show photographic evidence that the retired doctor cut the Los Angeles Marathon course months earlier.”

You cannot hide behind your claim with the new cyberbullying laws that are in place--California.
You also have no clue about the difference between hounding someone to death, and making comments about a person/celebrity. Neither Caster, Suzy, Galen or Alberto has been hounded to the point that Meza was. And even then, personalities are different; each person's breaking point is different.
Was Frank guilty of a crime by cheating and being DQ’d from the LA marathon? No. Did Frank have to take his own life? No. Did social media, news media, investigators, etc., cause his death? No. When Frank publicly posted about his running achievements, he entered the realm of social media, good and bad. Those running achievements came under scrutiny. People make it sound like Frank had no obligation to answer any of the questions about his performance, but he did by his social media claims. People could have chose to ignore him, and he could have gone around claiming to be a world record holder. But people tried to validate that claim and couldn’t. Frank could have validated it but didn’t. Others claimed that they could validate the claims but didn’t. I can’t answer who is responsible, but it didn’t have to happen this way. Frank was a responsible adult and he deserved better than what he did to himself.

This is a 100 or so posts responding to a 5,000 post guilt trip thread that ended up causing a man to take his life.
Mezra brought this upon himself. We do not, can not, will not excuse cheaters. If Mike Rossi were to ever off himself, he gets no sympathy from me. Karma

OK so you do not appear to be very bright. Now I hope you do not kill your self due to my observation. However, if you do, I shall take ZERO responsibility for your decision.
By LetsRun’s ridiculous own standards, all but a couple people who visit this this site are irrelevant and have no business making comments about anyone since we’re all hobby joggers (do not make a living from running).
Also, it’s ridiculous to even mention the J word, journalism, with this site. There are zero standards of journalism here. Is there a paid, qualified Editor with an actual background in journalism? No.
The Meza story is tragic, and in grand scheme of things, his cheating is irrelevant. He was not taking food off somebody’s plate because he cheated. Was it all cyber bullying? I don’t know, but once the ball starts rolling downhill, it sometimes it cannot be stopped. Is everyone satisfied now he’s not going to chat again? Will you sleep better?
After reading the CA laws pertaining to cyber bullying, I can’t see how they can be applied in the Frank Meza case.

By the same token, Derek Murphy brought this upon himself. He is in hiding. He seems to be looking for a lawyer. Karma.

Of course not, cyberbully.
You've made at least two posts now in different threads that put forward a malevolent, threatening tone. What's your deal man?
