It seems Frank really cared about AG awards to plan those times so well...

It wasn't a sanctioned race there was no WR to be set...
Furthermore, nobody REALLY cares about AG awards or Ed Whitlock. Give me a break.

This site likely has NOTHING to do with Meza’s death. You morons jump to conclusions here.
Ummm ... Hundreds of pages of people gleefully engaged in harassing him by contacting his friends, family, work, medical board, writing fake reviews pretending to be his patients, implying if not outright stating there was some insidious things going on at LHS with the children.... The whole thread was a dumpster fire and the only reason it was allowed to stay up was because it was fun.
Brojos take down threads for talking about adblockers, but they leave up threads engaged in targeted cyberbullying. Good standards.
This is not cyber bullying. The thread was just reporting what was found with picture evidence.

I think deadesq really cared. That's why he dug up all the cheating that Frank did. If Frank just admitted to his cheating, the whole thing would of been over and he didn't have to take his life.
“Blah blah blah disparage blah blah culpable blah blah hopefully I didn’t try too hard to sound smart here.” I have little knowledge of the topic of this thread but you sound like a Grade A jack*ss here big guy. I automatically assume anyone who unironically says they’re “smarter than you people” is overcompensating for their lack of intelligence.
The whole internet is filled with countless comments, abuses or insults about politicians, prominent persons or even simple people. Unfortunately that's how it is. I wish it was different. But I can not see why Letsrun or Derek´s investigation website should have a special fault.

Right. Which is why I fully expect that the guy who has generated about a dozen memes will have a fresh one for us to enjoy tomorrow morning. Maybe something with a turtle body and Meza's face photoshopped in. The guy who suggested that we investigate his son and Coach Lalo will continue to champion that pursuit as well because hey, there's no way they didn't know. How can we trust them? And the guy who voluntarily posted every new news agencies' press release on the subject and followed it with the caption "This is Going Viral!" will gleefully do so again as soon as he gets this news. Oh and don't forget, there are still many marathons of his to investigate. Doubler, please accept my donation. The Lord's work is never done.
Silly to blame something that was caused by Dr. Meza. Sad on many levels, but clearly this was a disturbed individual who did do much damage to others, and along the destroyed himself. Not really that surprising.

Yes, and I'm one of them. I don't give a flying flimflam about an AG record. I run to beat my own times and realize there are too many variables to make any "record" a 1-to-1 comparison, the least of which is all the incessant doping.
Besides that, an AG record was not even recorded so it doesn't matter what time he ran. He could have ran sub 2.
The “whole” internet is not filled with this type of trash. Most people use the internet to communicate, learn and get work done in ways that are useful to their community.
The media has certainly picked up on this now and they are using names. And since information lasts forever on the internet LRC, Marathon Investigation, and specifically Doubler’s image, voice and real name will always be associated with this debacle.
Be careful what you wish for because this is viral now.
Commence with blame and damage control.

Perhaps you only try to beat yourself, is that you know you are slow and can't content for AG awards???
I do think will shut down Derek’s site.
One thing that this whole story has taught me is that the truth doesn't matter. No one before Frank had to explain their results, especially not the previous record holder. The "evidence" consisted of blurry photos and videos that didn't really prove anything. What school of journalism did Derek Murphy graduate from? The only winner in this whole thing was Derek Murphy and his "support my website by making a one time donation of $100" plea.
The people who actually supported Frank were quickly shut down and drowned out by the mob that still continues to agree that he is a cheater. For the record, it would be highly improbable to cheat at that many marathons without a team assisting you... and for what? If anyone assisted Frank in cheating, now would be the time to speak up with who you are and why you did it.
If you really deep dive into his running career, he was obviously very talented. And, there is a lot of us who believe this, we just couldn't handle the harassment that you guys dished out relentlessly online, so a lot of us got tired of posting.
Enjoy your money Derek, hope you needed it.
Shame on the lot of you - no decency, even in death.
I don’t get why so many people use this site just to complain about it.
If you don’t like it, don’t use it.

Seriously. To claim there was no cyberbullying on that thread is a flat out lie. Is everyone still laughing as hard at their Meza memes today?
This is all absurd.
It's very sad for his family that is fact. As is all the evidence that has been compiled in the marathons he cheated in it. I'm not surprised his family is coming to defend him using emotion arguments (looking at you OP) but there's just no credibility in any of this.
Families can believe but they can be lied to. There is evidence of many anecdotes about the person whom was fired but went to work for 20+ years while everyone believed they went to work every day. It's a problem and these people aren't getting the help they need but it doesn't forgive the actions.
Derek did nothing wrong and I hope he continues. I'm for a pure and ethical sport and I'm a liberal for whatever that's worth.
If this is the cause of his death, like a suicide, then he's been so good at lying to his family they never saw any of the danger signs. They have responsibility in it too if not more. The posters here do not know Frank. They only know someone was clearly cheating and was clearly happy to have his friends fight on his behalf.
As I said it's sad, but it's not the fault of Derek or the majority of the posters here. I do believe the remainder of his amazing results should still be questioned and posthumous DQs be issued if he was found cheating. Even if its emotionally damaging it's the right thing to do. His untimely death does not give his 'records' a free pass.
Waaa waaaa waaaa.
Stop blaming others for meza's suicide. He is the one who chose to go the way he did, no one forced him to do so. If he had problems handling the criticism of his cheating, maybe he shouldn't have done so in the first place!
"One thing that this whole story has taught me is that the truth doesn't matter." It matters to those of us who think cheating is wrong. It doesn't matter to you and others who are defending Meza.
"No one before Frank had to explain their results, especially not the previous record holder." Actually, LetsRun and others have asked others with strange splits and missed timing mats to explain their results.
"The 'evidence' consisted of blurry photos and videos that didn't really prove anything." Actually, the evidence that Meza cheated was extremely strong. Which is why at least two prominent marathons DQ'd him.
"What school of journalism did Derek Murphy graduate from?"[/i ] One does not need a journalism degree to be a journalist. Derek Murphy's work is always factual, meticulous, and fair-minded. You fail to point out a single inaccuracy in his reporting.
"The only winner in this whole thing was Derek Murphy and his 'support my website by making a one time donation of $100' plea." There's nothing wrong with him asking for donations to compensate him for the time he devotes to his work. Nobody is forced to give him a penny.
"The people who actually supported Frank were quickly shut down and drowned out by the mob that still continues to agree that he is a cheater." No, you were drowned out by the evidence. And, yes, we still agree that he cheated. Of course he did. The "mob" for the most part cited facts and photos whereas your side makes unconvincing appeals to Meza's character and the like.
"For the record, it would be highly improbable to cheat at that many marathons without a team assisting you..." Not so. Assuming he rode a bike from timing mat to timing mat, it seems it would be not so improbable. In any case, who is to say he didn't have assistance?
"If you really deep dive into his running career, he was obviously very talented." It's not obvious to me. All of his race results are now suspect.
