Sorry -- nice try to to romanticize a terribly cowardly act. FM hit "game over" and left a widow, grown children, and grandchildren over profound hubris. Jumping on a grenade to save your comrades' life is not the same a jumping over the railing of a bridge because you refuse to be embarrassed. Sprintgeezer, you are mixing metaphor, allegory, ideas.
