The 50th Peachtree Roadrace is tomorrow, we've got another thread on the stacked fields that we'll link to at bottom and will turn into the official thread.
But LRC are Peachtree Virgins. Employee 1.1 is being flown out by the Atlanta Track Club to cover the race. What can some Peachtree/Atlanta Veterans tell us that we don't know? 1.1 won't be running the race, but I'm curious what people would say to those of us who have no direct experience of Peachtree.
Below is thread on the fields going for the $50k course records.

LetsRun.com has never been to Peachtree but are going this year. What do we need to know?

Since you guys never pay attention to details I will start with some obvious ones.
The 50th Peachtree 10K Road Race in Atlanta was started 50 years again and is approximately 6.2 miles in length. It is also ran on the roads of Atlanta. -

It often is warm and humid on race day.

Atlanta is a great city. Definitely check out the belt line, Ponce City Market and he aquarium. Atlanta BBQ is also top notch. Have fun!

I’m here from the west coast for the 15th or 16th time since 1982, when Jon Sinclair won.
Went over to the hotel today to talk with Fancy Chemutai. Talked a little about the race but had to give her something to take back Kenya as she is flying back after tomorrow’s race.
Gonna be hot. So what questions do you have? Perhaps I can add my two cents. -

It is run over 10k so at the 9k marker there will be 1 more km. Most of the top 10 in both women and men will be originally from countries in or near the Rift Valley in East Africa. -

Has Fancy recovered well from her 10k in Boston on 23 June? -

please refer to everyone else as "the Blonde Bomber" -
Yes. She’s been in Atlanta all this past week. She stated she will go for the record.

I predict Wejo, after covering the start, will mill around the Lenox Mall area looking up Peachtree Road waiting for the finishers to return in a sprint finish on this flat, out and back course.

The wheelchair race is STACKED and there is $50,000 on the line. They are going to be rolling fast down that hill, at the finish, hit the rubber mats, bounce in the air and all heck will break loose. I predict a huge crash. Be there with camera.

If that happened perhaps finally Romanchek will have something of interest to say instead of being a boring blob.

Back in the day Runners World had s humorous cartoon sketch of a young girl crouched in a peach tree while cradling a shotgun.
This was because a newspaper headline had read 'Virgin holds off 2000 in Peachtree." -
Wasn’t the headline ‘Thousands chase a Virgin down Peachtree’ ?

If this is the 50th Peachtree 10k Road Race in Atlanta, wasn't it started 49 years ago?
If this is the 50th anniversary of the 1st Peachtree 10k, then it is the 51st.
I ran a death march of ten miles in the south this morning. If the race weather was anything like it was here this morning, I'd be shocked at low 27s. -
I did the Peachtree twice. Once in 1980 and the next time in 1982. In 1982 I went just barely under 30 minutes. It was a point to point course. Is it still that way now? Great race. Back then just one gun and everyone goes. They did have the elite field in a roped off starting area.
