just to chip in here, the tea sip was bad sportsmanship, plain and simple.
I mean no one should do that, but do that when you are the favorite and winning is extra special trashy.
Care to explain why you feel that way? Is there something offensive about England and tea? Or better yet, is there anything that England could justifiably be upset about when it comes to tea?
And Scorpio, have you yet to realize that the only reason England had the run of play in the second half was because of the US defensive posture? Doesn’t that count for something in your mind?
Because it’s the World Cup!
Not the Yankees vs the Red Sox
It’s nation vs nation, where it is about nations playing against each other in the respect of the game. The World Cup is designed to bring nations together, which is why nations put down their guns when the World Cup Is going on.
That’s why it is trashy and classy . Mia Hamm never did stuff like that or the rest of the 1999 team .
All this crap started with hope solo and Amy waumbach era. They were quite arrogant as well and got beaten by Japan, and it brought them down a notch. I would expect something like that from a third world country, similar to what Cameroon did. But they were just in pain because they felt cheated and acted out on it. Even their country came down on them hard for their action, because there is a certain behavior that should be displayed in the WC. And Americans just don’t understand that. Just like Americans play with a silly playoff system in MLS.
You’re the most dominant team in the tourney, act like it . When the Germans won back to back, they were like dark vadar They didn’t have to say or do anything , just show up and dominate.
