Interestingly the other NOP runners like Hassan, etc. did not seem to be doing so. But she seemed to be doing a medium length workout post race.

not uncommon for NOP runners to do some reps after a race.
I saw Hassan, Koko and Murphy on the track
Probably trying to sweat out their vitamins in case the doorbell rings later.
Crazy that Koko, at her young age, is already the 6th fastest of all time in the 3,000! Only Hassan (barely) and a few of the doped Chinese ahead of her. No Kenyan has ever run faster. Even Obiri is now behind her.
Can she get below 14:15 in the 5000?
There are not many good and fast 3000m races and one DL is usually Doha at the beginning of the season. 20 yo Kipyegon ran 8:23 there when Obiri ran her 8:20.
That Koko is a freakish talent had been clear since two years ago or even earlier. At barely 19 she ran a 32:24 10k on the roads from base training in early March while being still mainly an 800/1500m runner. In May/June 2017 (I think this was after her first real altitude training) she ran 14:51 (solo with huge negative split), 1:59 and 3:59 within less than three weeks. At 20 and 3 months. And reportedly her mileage was still fairly moderate back then. NOP have been cranking up the intensity and mileage and the results are not that unexpected. The task will be to keep her healthy with her very low weight, lanky figure and slight X legs, to improve core stability and form etc. There is certainly the danger of burning very bright but for a rather short time, I fear but this is not a necessary outcome.
3k is a useless event outside.
will somebody please give her something to eat. Has anyone ever addressed her thinness

Lol. Yes, its useless but only because Klosterhalfen just ran one of the fastest times ever. Right?
Funny enough, somehow that 8:20 equates to a 14:19 5000m....which would make that the 6th fastest of all time as well.
Hopefully she gets at least that this year so you can come back and tell us how useless the 5k is too.

Her body is just fine for the events she is running. She is not a 100-400m sprinter. BMI around 16, sure it would be classified as underweight but in her case it's mostly lean muscle mass, very low body fat. So the BMI don't count for athletes, there is a huge difference between her 16 BMI body and an anorexic women that's skinny fat at 16 BMI with no muscles.
She does lots of strength training, even squats and deadlifts (1.5x-2x bodyweight DL), so I don't think you have the right to complain about her body.
Gaining weight would likely improve her kick a bit (she got destroyed by Laura Muir in a slow race in EM), but she would lose much more over 3k or 5k than she could ever gain. So it wouldn't make sense for her!
I'd like to know who calculated her BMI at 16, no way

Her official weight is 48 kg at 174 cm. Bmi 15.9 exactly. That's 5'9" and 106 lbs.
But we shouldn't put too much emphasis on BMI calculation. Her legs are longer than average, so it would be different if she had shorter legs even with the same degree of leanness.
Don't forget she has enough power to run a sub 2 800m, so I think her weight is just perfect for her. Others got more on them/higher BMI, but they are also smaller usually (think Muir, Hassan, etc). Koko got the same weight as them, she is just taller and got longer legs.
Koko made me smile watching her after she finished at Pre. She seemed so happy with her 2nd place and tried to give Hassan a hug. Not much reciprocated.
Anyone else think Gidey had a shot to hold them off if she didnt step on the rail? I think her and Hassan would have been close.
She's in need of a sandwich, but she is a great racer. There is no quit in her.
And unlike a lot of runners today, she fights to put herself in contention.

People have been saying for years on these forums she needs to eat more, but yet she's had steady improvement as a junior into seniors and never had any bone injuries.
Her health is her own business, but there's also no obvious indication she has a problem with food other than being lean. Let's focus on her running and trust she has the right support network around her (which she obviously does based on how well she's running).
I have some ocean front property in Arizona if anyone is willing to buy it.
How much?
Standard for NOP. It's a big reason why I figure they're on something (I envy people who think they're clean, being able to enjoy watching them race).
At the London DL last year, Hasan smokes Obiri, Muir, Simpson, and Tseguy in a 4:14 mile in the last race of the day. While Muir is dying in an ice bath, Tseguy and Simpson cooling down, Hasan is back out on the track doing repeat k's at 2:40-2:43. I stopped timing/counting at the 6th rep.
It's mindblowing how these other athletes are completely fried but after a snack and 30minutes she was out there doing a fairly hefty workout
Interesting watching Konstanze as well go from getting absolutely smoked by Muir in the 3000m at European indoors to beating Dibaba, Gidey, and Obiri yesterday. Especially given how Dibaba dispatched of Muir in Rome and how all three have gotten the better of Muir over distance in the past.

That's not right. EU indoor was a slow race, Klosterhalfen had to front run all the way by herself while Muir was drafting off her waiting to kick at the end.
Of course a heavier athlete like Muir is gonna outkick Klosterhalfen at the end. But had there been a Gidey in the mix pushing the pace and making it another low 8:2x instead of 8:30, Klosterhalfen might have already beat Muir there.
Hassan and Klosterhalfen should thank Gidey for pushing the pace yesterday, had it been a slow race Muir would have likely won again.
Obviously Muir has a better kick but
it wasn't pedestrian, Muir won in 8:30. Yeah, she sat on Konstanze and waited for the right time to make a move, but Konstanze couldn't take it any faster. She knew that Muir had a better kick and tried to crank up the pace and drop Muir but couldn't. Muir is great, but I don't think she is running 8:20 and beating Obiri/Gidey/Dibaba over 3000. So Konstanze goes from going to the wall trying to drop Muir and not even taking a sting out of Muir's kick (Muir's last lap was a 28) to being able to blow by the others in the last 300m of a DL 3000.
C'mon, either Muir was much fitter indoors *or* Konstanze has improved massively.
Also my point still stands. She runs one of the fastest 3000m in history and then does a workout afterwards? Hasan smokes a field in London then does a workout afterwards? Smh. NOP athletes recovering at crazy rates.
