Yes, you are right, seems like about 55 or 55.05

On norwegian broadcasting Jakob and Filip just said that they are both aiming for European Record in Monaco next week, feeling that they "are starting to get into shape"...
Balew and Edris ran like garbage in the 5000m.
Yepp - 55,0 sec. He has not peaked this year he says in interview after run. I couldn't exactly interpret what Filip said. Filip's Rogaland dialect is very hard to understand after a 1500 meter race.
Great WL / MR / NR / PB for Piotr Lisek in the men's pole vault. Awesome to see a guy who has always been close but never on top having such a breakout day.
Question -- Mondo and Lavillenie tied for 3rd with 5.81m. However, I would have thought that Lavillenie would win on countback, since their sheets are identical except that he cleared 5.41 while Mondo passed at 5.41. I had thought that there was an incentive to jump in the rules, so that this sort of situation would break a tie.
No doubt both can go under 3:30, but 3:28:81 is a big ask! Would be truly awesome if they make it, but I think Jakob will go 3:29:30 and that break the ER next year.

That would be great

Yes, there were some people here almost writing Jakob off after his run at Bislett, and saying myself and others were 'making excuses' for him for mentioning his cold and exams.
I think the record will go at Monaco and both might go under it.

We weren’t writing him off, we were making fun of your woefully wrong prediction that he’d win.

Anyone catch Jakobs lat 400m split??
I just rewatched it, 54 seconds or 53.9 or 54.1
From just a glance of the race replay, it looks like Jakob's splits were
300m 41.7 (55.6 400m pace)
700m 1:38.7 (57.0 lap)
1100m 2:35.1 (56.4 lap)
1500m 3:30.1 (55.0 last lap)
No way he went 54 low or 53.9. This was very much a time trial affair so most people were either maintaining pace or dying on the last lap. I imagine Jakob was the only one who had a slight negative split. Even Timothy went through 1k in 1:08 and 800m in 1:50 so there's no way he negative split.

Nice you have all the splits, I have also confirmed my error in another post.
Either way, you can't ask for much more optimal splits in a 1500m. That sounds great, but having that said + the fact that they just traveling all the way from Pacific US and now have to get ready for another race in 6 days, I'm not sure how much better the Ingibristen's or even Timothy can do in Monaco. I think the racers who aren't coming back from the Prefontaine/Lausanne double will fare much better in Monaco. Will be interesting to see how well Centro can do.
Official Race Analysis
Jakob:
41.9
57.0 (1:38.9)
56.4 (2:35.3)
54.9 (3:30.1)

would be amazing to get Mo Farah off the top of that list.
I can’t wait to watch these races online when I have time

well monaco is 2-3 seconds faster than normal 1500s, so what can we predict for monaco?
predicted monaco
Cheruiyot 3:28.77 3:25.77-3:26.77
Jakob 3:30.16 3:27.16-3:28.16
Souleiman 3:30.79 3:27.79-3:28.79
Filip 3:30.82 3:27.82-3:28.82
here is timmays last monaco

3:28.41 (monaco)
3:30.27
3:32.37
subtracting out monaco his average is 3:30.89, thus you take 2-3 off and see how it compares to what he ran in monaco
3:30.27 = 3:27.27-3:28.27 (3:28.41 real time)
now lets take a look at the others
monaco PR
Jakob 3:30.16 3:31.18
Souleiman 3:30.79 3:29.58
Filip 3:30.82 3:30.01
i predict PRs from all, with timmmay running a bit faster than kiprops tainted time, 3:26.60 with the other three in 3:28.50s

I have to admit Tim is running well. I hope his spuds are clean, but he certainly seems focused now, maybe not having to compete with Manangoi is helping him. Jakob could push him to a 3:26 in Monaco.
I certainly go home undevastated, what with Jakob's amazing run and the fact that Korir came last out of the top 3 in the 800. Jake Wightman had a fine run too - a 3:34 to follow a 1:45 in the 800 after missing all winter with injury.
Tim ain't doing Monaco this year.
Agreed - Wightman's 9th place finish was much better than Korir's 3rd place finish.

Definitely. Wightman was the fastest (of the last five) whereas Korir finished last (of the first three).
Wightman >> Korir or (as we should read it) white man >> Kenyan
