Nope. Centro did not lead the entire race. He only took the lead for good around 450m from the end.

Bitter ol Clay Mayes, iii...returning like clockwork to every single Centro thread. Don't you know that you're supposed to let bitterness and anger go?
i may be the only poster who is a fan of both Centro Jr. and Kara Goucher.
I hope he runs really well. Why would anyone think otherwise?
He is an Olympic gold medalist from the United States. He is an incredible tactician. His dad was a great runner for the USA and so is he. I have enjoyed watching him race for many years.
Go Centro!
Centrowitz was pretty good but his day in the sun is done.

You're just the same drunk dickless runner who smears an athlete who's never had a failed drug test ever.
Go F yourself you big Baby.
Yes, I can’t disagree more. I don’t think he can hang with the boys: the Ingebrigtsen brothers, Yomif Kejelcha and many others.

Skin cancer? Latent albinism? Obsessed with being as pale as possible? Do explain.
Centro is clutch AF. Olympic gold medalist forever. Hes not a guy who consistently finishes top 3 in DL meets but he knows how to play his cards right and capitalize when it really matters. He performs well at the most important times, US champs, world and Olympic games. Like Kawhi Leonard says about the regular season, these are just practice meets. The Olympics is when it matters. The doping Kenyans and ethiopians are out chasing money and contracts and times and also can get scared when the big show comes around with regards to drug testing. They will roll on the DL but can not be counted on to be consistent (aside from a very select few) and medal when it counts.

Talking about Ethiopians, their national record of 3.48.60 held by Wote could go if Kejelcha is near his best. Only has mile times recorded indoors, including the record. Supposedly this is his debut outdoors. Tefera as well should go under it.

What are you talking about? He went right to the front and answered every single move. I don't care what the time was, that was a great race on his part. To answer every surge and move as aggressively as he did and then still out kick some of the best kickers in the world is incredible. Not to mention he held that form for like 6 whole months, he was the world indoor champ that year too so its not like it was an accident. Also, anyone who talks sh!t about a dude with a 3:30 PR and a gold medal is an idiot.

It's strange, isn't it? Americans are a bizarre lot. You should be sending your encouragement instead of bashing one of your best.

I had forgotten just how wild this race was..
2:14ish through 800m! Kwemoi gets tripped. Kiprop runs one of the worst races tactically ever. Lots of pushing and shoving. Crazy fast final lap.
Thanks for posting.
This is at Stanford instead of Eugene, right? Well, if it is at Stanford, the conditions should be good but it might be too windy--12-13 mph in the afternoon, but sunny, no precipitation and temps are fine for the mile at 75-76 degrees F. If I'm wrong and it's in Eugene, high of 84, low of 56, partly cloudy, wind 9 mph from the north.
We could see a 3:47 if it is not tactical and Kejelcha should go for a long drive from 900m. Centro hasn't raced yet to my knowledge and doesn't tend to do great at circuit races, so I'd think he'd be very happy with 3:51-52. If you're not doing a tuneup race, which you need, then you're probably coming back from injury and not 100% fit.

Imagine if peak Alan Webb was in that race. It would've been havoc. Throwing in a random sub 13 100m in the middle if the race.
It's OK. We know that being a compulsive liar is challenging. Just try to not choose lies which are so easily fact-checked. At least Frank Meza stretched his out for ten years.
