HEY, PEABRAINED IDIOTS!
Why is it so terribly difficult for so many of you to comprehend that, without requiring your approval, many people have excellent reasons to relocate, to move on from someone else's idea of "success", and to just gamble on trying something new? We don't ever have to know Milt's reasons for up and moving and trying something else on for size, but he has weighed the pros and cons, and he's going with big change. More power to him and his family. He's not much different from millions of other Americans in taking on new challenges in a new locale.
The mentality of some LR posters isn't much different from that of people who see a runner go by and think, "Ewww! Why would anyone be stupid enough to voluntarily run and get all sweaty and out of breath?"
Personally, I think Chris Miltenberg enjoys the prospect of watching ACC basketball live (ugh, not on ESPN live). And the occasional hurricane, tornado, snow, or freezing rain won't make him suck his thumb and call for his mommy. And he probably gets along mighty fine with people who talk funny, y'all. Oh, and he likes a fatter paycheck and a bigger floorplan and a few more neighbors who will look him in the eye and smile, and converse, not snootily judge like in Palo Alto and environs.
Lastly, and this is mere speculation on my part, I suspect that he enjoys the fact that a few more folks in his geographic locale will use flush toilets, not the street.
