I'm glad Bobby O'Rourke is out, now he can stop running around pretending to be a Mexican.
I think that guy could have done something but man did he do a crap job of taking the momentum he had from the Tx Senate race and turn it into anything.
Had he jumped into the moderate lane and stayed there, while the rest of them drove off into Loony Leftist Land, he might still be around.
Beto may want to be left available as a VP choice or a cabinet position.
He's skipping a chance at another senate seat run.
He could wind up being a media pundit after the election.

This seems wildly inaccurate. I started college in 1989, minimum wage was $3.35 per hour. I wasn't getting 4 years of college for $1,025. Not even close. I paid about $1k per semester a big state school.
Minimum wage for a boomer in the late 1960s-70s was probably $1.50-$2/hr. Again, no way you'd get four years of school for $500-$700..
One thing you can tell about the polls is that you can't tell anything.

All of the Dems smash Trump on the national polls.
But things are close state by state (which is what matters)
But I love these two polls:
Michigan: Trump vs. Warren - NY Times/Siena Warren 40, Trump 45 Trump +5
Michigan: Trump vs. Warren - Emerson Warren 54, Trump 46 Warren +8
One poll has Trump beating Warren in Michigan by 5 points another has Warren beating Trump there by 8 points.
And you see how these numbers bounce around from day to day.
Democrats just need to vote for the person they like best and then rally around the eventual nominee.

I've got news for you, bro. 'Loony Leftist Land' is where we are all headed, thats why he dropped, its what the voters want. I predicted this before Trump won as it was obvious a Trump presidency was going to force the pendulum to swing the extreme opposite way. Trump may have been the punishment for Obama but just wait to see what real progressive have in store for all of the idiot Trumpsters who's only concerns are guns and owning the libs.

That's a defeatist attitude.
Warren is just another corporate shill and would not change anything.

That's what we need is a real progressive, and there's only one of them running.
Now Michael Bloomberg is jumping in the race.
77 year old billionaire, former Republican Mayor of New York City.
I don't think it's too late to jump in and the same old candidates have been getting stale, so there will be interest.
He's not taking Bernie voters. I don't see many Warren voters jumping on.
He'll take votes from people with a moderate position.
He's older than Biden, so people worried about Biden's age won't gravitate to Bloomberg.
But Biden supporters that may have other concerns could vote for Bloomberg.
I don't think this is a welcomed addition for people who really want Biden to be the candidate.
Anyone here happy about the new choice?
Think he has any chance to get the nomination?
Saying he would be the best against Trump doesn't matter if he can't get the nomination.
I'm glad he's in, I posted awhile back that I was hoping he would jump in. While the crazy lefties will hate him, I would gladly vote for him over Trump and certainly over the other candidates.
Biden looks and sounds old
Warren- unlikable, a liar, and just goes around promising a bunch of stuff she can't pass and can't pay for.
Buttigig- no way the USA elects a gay president. Personally I like him the best out of all the candidates, but no way he wins.
The rest are just token candidates.
Buttigieg/Gabbard would be a nice change up. Both young, both attractive, both are sensible people.
I'm sticking to my Biden/Harris ticket until it doesn't happen.
OK
But what if the entry of Bloomberg helps Warren get the nomination by taking votes from Biden?
Would you still be glad he's in?
I really don't think Bloomberg will win the Democratic nomination (I could be wrong) but if not, he will certainly disrupt the order and help one candidate over another.
Could certainly happen, but I think a lot of people are not fans of Warren and don't see her as electable.
To beat Trump you don't have to be a radical leftist, JUST BE NORMAL! He will take care of the rest because he's so unlikeable and he cannot shut up.
Just be a normal Democrat, say "I'm going to nominate pro-choice judges to the court, I will not engage people on Twitter, I will not get into tiffs with minor celebrities and news anchors. I'll be ... Presidential. Vote for me because I am not Donald Trump."
That's enough.
We don't need another grandpa in the race. People are starting to question whether biden and sanders can hack it given their age.

Buttigieg is my number 1 pick also but agree with you that the US isn't ready for it. Iowa is warming up to him because the older people are questioning whether Biden and Sanders can hack it at their age and he is a better speaker than warren. But he doesn't have a chance in the rest of the country.
i just don't think Harris could knock out Trump.
I'd be good with a Biden/Buttigieg ticket. Buttigieg can then take over when Biden croaks in office and bam! the US has its first gay president without actually voting for it.
I like that Mayor Pete is moving up in the polls. We need a moderate alternative to Biden to stay in the race.
Red-state Republicans weren't going to vote for a Democrat even if he was straight. So the fact that he's gay isn't costing him those votes.
Danny Democrat wrote:

Why would you want a Republican who's funded by billionaires to move up in the polls?
He is certainly not a moderate. He's a right wing extremist who supports and is funded by billionaires.
By the way, he is not moving up in the polls.
They put him in the top 5 in the polls at the start before anyone even knew who he was.
Seriously. And really some of you 'moderates' need a reality check.
Remember back in 2008, a black man with very little political experience was elected by a huge margin over one of the most respected (by both sides of the aisle) Republicans with a long history of being a 'good' politician. This same black man, then defeated Mitt Romney.
There are very few reasons Donald Trump won and it is not because of moderates or because Dem/Progressive policies are not popular. In fact it is the opposite reason, Hilary was not progressive enough to incite a high voter turn out. All the polls showed her winning by a huge margin. People were not going to turn out in large numbers. It was one of the lowest voter turn outs in recent history. That is why he won. Trump will not win again unless the DNC floats another moderate and tries to cram their center-left (right wing in any other developed nation) candidate down America's throat.
Polls show the majority of Americans support progressive policies and ideals. You 'moderates' are small in number and living in a bubble. In fact there are fewer of you than there are Trump supporters. Stop pretend America wants a Hilary or Biden.
40% of the voters hated Hillary before she even announced she was going to run. Her loss had nothing to do with her positions. Biden, running with the same positions as Hillary, would have easily beaten Trump.

I'll bite...
>He is certainly not a moderate. He's a right wing extremist who supports and is funded by billionaires.
1) why do you say he a Republican right right wing extremist?
He is for gun control, pro choice, and wants everyone to have health insurance. Which right wing extremists would agree with these policies?
>By the way, he is not moving up in the polls.
2) Check out the graphs on RealClearPolitics for the past year
Many of the polls have him moving up, particularly in Iowa.
