Not all Republicans are racists, but all racists vote Republican.
Look at the diversity difference in parties.

Trump couldn’t even compete in a statewide election in New York.
New Yorkers fundamentally reject him.
Ban yourself, weasel.
Democrats are rolling out their new economic plan..it’s called “Poverty For All”!
I realize that this thread is dominated by people that have no intention on voting for the Democratic nominee.
They are mostly scared of losing in the fall and want to smear everyone along the way.
I never care for the Republican candidates but always want their best to be the nominee in case that person becomes president.
They really screwed up last time.
I can't believe they didn't support someone like Kasich.
As to last night's debate, no one had a clear jump up or a tumble.
People who have chosen someone to support probably didn't change their mind.
Minnesota would be the obvious one.
Minnesota hasn't voted a Republican for president since 1972.
It's true that 2016 was close, but that wasn't because Trump got more votes than recent Republicans. It was because Hillary only captured 46.4 % of the vote (and still won). Trump got 44.9%.
So, 8.7% of the state voted none of the above in 2016.
Has Trump done anything to change the mind of those that did not vote for him last time?
Has he grown his base in areas that didn't go for him before?
Will the Dem nominee be more disliked than Hillary was?

I was a Kasich guy the whole way. Unfortunately he chose to act like an adult, so he was never able to get any attention. Sometimes I think this country is a victim of its own success -- it makes people complacent and take presidential elections less seriously in terms of what they value and look for in candidates.

Well, the question was whether there was a Hillary state that Trump could flip. I think Minnesota is the most obvious one. I think his support in rural white areas is more locked in that it was in 2016.
I think it is entirely possible that the Dem nominee will be as disliked and/or demotivating to voters as Clinton. For instance, Biden is not going to excite younger voters, more progressive voters, minority voters, etc. If he is the nominee by the time the election comes around just as many people will believe that there is corruption as believed it in Clinton's case.
Minnesota is like Pennsylvania.
PA was a long shot and Trump flipped it.
I guess that's the idea of MN, but it's a longer shot and keeping PA will again be a long shot.
Trump is trying to defend a lot of swing states that he won last time and has very few states he can flip that he lost.
So, lets give him MN. I would say Virginia but that is getting more blue since Trump's election.
He has to defend PA, MI, WI, FL, OH, AZ, IA and maybe some others.
The electoral math is still against him and the popular vote is assumed to be lost.

Virginia is not going to go for Trump. It was trending blue before Trump and that trend continues. I would put the under/over for Virginia at D+7 for 2020.
It's really, really hard to find potential Hillary states that would flip to Trump in 2020.
Trump states that could flip Dem are all over the country.
Even Texas and Georgia are in play.
Trump better learn how to hack these voting machines.
This clip of "Joe vs the Volcano" sums up my view of Biden supporters who like him because he is the most electable.
I know he can get the job, but can he do the job.

He will be 78 on inauguration day.
Once he is in the Oval Office, I am concerned about what he does from there to get us back on track and making progress.

Hahahaha, oh the irony of reading this thread and seeing one of the conservatives here accuse Democratic candidates for lack of substance in their criticism. That's hilarious.

Kind of related, Virginia is having a discussion on the 2nd Amendment on January 20th, The people of Virginia VOTED OVERWHELMINGLY to have their gun rights taken away, but some counties have Sheriff's who will deputize any one who wants to have guns. I hope they take guns away from EVERYBODY Including the Police and ESPECIALLY The Criminals. The Governor says they will go door to door to collect Guns and The Governor said he will also NOT have anyone armed on his security team, as he said I believe in practicing what I preach.

Douglas,
I live in Virginia. Please don't talk about this issue, because it is clear that you have absolutely no grasp of the facts. There are too many misstatements in this one paragraph for me to even begin to correct. Let's just say this is a complete fantasy world.
Parts of Virginia are setting up sanctuary areas for gun people.
So if you have a criminal record and want to buy guns to hurt people, look to buy in those places.

This is not as wrong as what Douglas stated, but it is also very misleading.
There have been no changes to Virginia gun laws.
I will note that under federal standards, Douglas is barred from gun ownership. I think it is a good idea that he (and everybody) have to go through a background check for ever single gun purchase or attempted gun purchase. We need to close loopholes.
