I'd like to think so. But until someone stands out in the field and can attract back the Obama voters who voted for Trump in 2016, I'm not overly confident we aren't going to have 4 more years of chaos.

Delusional.
In 2016, most people didn't actually think Trump would be elected, and many didn't care to come out to vote.
This year they are motivated to get rid of Trump.
You don't need someone to stand out in the field.
One will get the nomination.
Anyone that wants Trump gone will vote for the Dem nominee.
Trump is very unpopular and is not even trying to expand his base.
His supporters will vote hard but are there really enough to keep him?

Trump is going to get 50+% of the black and Hispanic vote.

Hopefully not. If this article is correct, it seems as if the only people who like trump are uneducated white men. If the women come out to vote, he should lose.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/27/politics/gender-gap-2020-election/index.htmlIt will be interesting. Trump has set up a few "crisis" that he can fairly easily "fix" himself and claim victory, and he'll use whatever pressure he can to make the economy look amazing in the short-term over the next year. It's hard to run against an incumbent in a good economy. I think it will be much closer than most people realize.
We've never had a president before that had both a good economy and a negative disapproval rating during his entire presidency.
There is nothing on the past to compare this to.
His supporters are faithful.
His detractors are many and motivated.
Can you imagine a single Hillary voter changing their vote to Trump?
I can imagine a lot of Trump voters staying home.

We do not have 2019 g.d.p. growth rate yet, but g.d.p. growth rate for 2019 will be low 2%. That is nothing to brag about. Unemployment is a meaningless statistic. If one is too depressed to look for work and on disability, one is not considered unemployed. Those in jail or prison are not considered unemployed. A stay at home parent not currently looking for work is not considered unemployed. The national debt has exploded under T R U M P. Equity markets have done well under T R U M P because T R U M P's cut taxes for multi-millionaires & billionaires. Where else are multi-millionaires and billionaires going to place their money? George W Bush's tax cut economy fell apart in W's second term. If T R U M P is reelected, T R U M P's tax cut economy will fall apart in T R U M P's second term.
You may be correct, but your username is right on the spot. People don't care about GDP numbers. 90% of voters are simpletons. They care if they have a job and the only thing they regularly hear on the news about the economy is the DJIA.

I know you won't answer me and I am fine with that. I know you read my posts.
Just know that everything I tell you is true. God can see the good in you that many of us can not.

Why?
A lot of 2016 Trump voters did so because they couldn’t stand Hilary.
And a lot of Republicans do not like what Trump has done to the party.
They won’t vote Democrat, so they will stay home.
Then there were the Trump voters who normally didn’t vote before and may go back to not voting.
It’s hard to imagine people that didn’t like him in 2016 have seen something that inspires them to vote fir now.
On this site, you see the save Trump cheer leaders since the beginning. Some using new user names but they aren’t newly converted Trump fans.
I will say that he may pick up some new voters that are emboldened after seeing other people come out for Trump.
Those people didn’t vote in 2016. That’s his one shot to combat voters he loses.

I don't agree with this. Not one person that I know who voted for Trump in 2016 will just stay home this time (unless they died).

Do you know all 60+ million Trump voters?
Biden is not weakening but getting stronger. At some point all of the candidates and their supporters will galvanize behind Biden due to their contempt for Trump.
The youngest female (31) voted into Congress just gave her support to Biden. Sanders has his no one but Bernie followers, but they can't want 4 more years of Trump. They will come around. Warren is falling.
Note how any candidate who took a cheap shot at biden is out or doing poorly.
It will be Biden.

I watched him on Cspan at a town hall in New Hampshire. He was poised, charming, and intelligent. He was in command unlike in some of the earlier debates. Like him or not he's not crazy uncle Joe.

You hope it is Biden. It is obvious. No one wants Biden. You must be over age 60. Biden has to do wine & cheese fund raisers to get money. Senator Sanders has the money rolling in. Biden has to dial for dollars and beg for money. Do you think a man who has to do wine & cheese fund raisers and dial for dollars as does Biden is the kind of man to get young people of all racial demographic groups in Albuquerque, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Minneapolis to show up and vote? Senator Sanders is polling well with young people of all races. [Even though H.R.C. won New Mexico, it may not be easy in 2020. Gary Johnson got about 10% of vote in NM in 2016. I doubt Gary Johnson will help Democrats in 2020. Most Libertarians are just another type of Republican.]
