He’s likely capable of it, but he doesn’t push the pace. There “is no Daniel Komen” i.e. no one willing AND capable of pushing the pace. Kejelcha sometimes occupies that role, but not Barega.
And pushing the pace does require more work, so it’s not a foregone conclusion that Barega could win a fast race or run a record if he were required to do all of the pushing.
We are discussing the pace set for the pacing, and you seem to be fine that Barega is capable of following the pacers at the pace announced. Then we agree.
I have no opinion about the final result, but the pace setting is just fine at 60s/lap.

With the paces for the men’s two mile I’m not expecting much. I doubt they’ll go with the rabbits. I doubt the second rabbit can even hold pace for that long.
You’re wrong on that last point.

Major rumours swirling on this right now, along with Makwala and Arafi.
What happened to Ronnie Baker this year? He dropped off the face of the earth. No reports of injury on his social sites. Amazing how confident he was last year winning races easily with a big smile on his face.
Anyone else stuck in the 30 minute line to get in the stadium. Horrible planning.

If there is only 1 line to get in that is a huge mistake. They should have set up 3 or even 4 entry areas to distribute the load.
Why isn't Josh Kerr in this? A 3:33 1500 not good enough to get him an invite in a 17 man field for an American based runner?
nope
Sorry if this has been posted but is there any other way to stream it besides NBC gold???
Yes
VPN like Windscribe works fine, not Hola though.
Gorgeous weather over there as usual, I ran on that track a few times ;-) They block lanes 1/2 (and possibly 3/4) outside of competitions though.

Who is his sponsor? That is the answer to your question.
Most all the events here are stacked but Rai Benjamin had no one to run with. Stellar time though for sure! 49.19, just inside Top 10 all time.
