Not a bad run by Matt for his first race in awhile. He looks nice and strong.
I haven't checked the horse and car racing sites yet to find out what he did.
Engels' PR went from 3:55 to 3:51. With his wheels, I see him making the final in Tokyo. Centro looking decent in his season debut also, and the I-Bros are looking healthy as well.
Did he finish??? wrote:

come on, man . The showed the times at the end of the race, and they showed his finish.
Jakob 3:51.30, just .02 behind Filip!

No, winning time will be 3:49-3:52 range and Jakob will get 3rd or 5th. Engles will be back in 3:56.

That CBC feed was excellent. Two hours, non-stop. No interviews, no "stories"- I can finally catch my breath. Great meet.
That's how it should be. Nice.

I dont know what the big deal is. Just buy a paper tomorrow and check the results. Real track fans only care who the winner was - the other 17 guys in that Mile? Fugedabout them. A bunch of no names weren't they?

You are very naive to think that doesn’t happen with the most successful sports brand fully focused on profits.
Wait? A company that's focused on profits??? What's the world coming too?
Also along those same lines, its one thing to have an sponsored athlete busted for drugs, its a whole nother thing to aid or abet the taking of said drugs. The risk to the corporation is far greater in the second case - and too those precious profits. Since the benefits to the company of just about any sponsored track athlete are minimal, taking any kind of risk in that manner (besides turning a blind eye - and having plausible deniability) I expect is unlikely in most cases.
Engles, Centro, Blankenship look strong. Murphy and Gregorek didn't do well. Hope Murphy does 800m this year still as he's not fully mile ready.
So Hannah Green jumped from 2:00 to 1:58 in her pro debut, right behind Ajee. Her, Gidey and Hull had the New Face breakthroughs of the meet.
Ayana 8:57? That is not even her 10K pace.
And what more need be said about this character:
Willis DFL. Is he done?
I would also like to point out that as good as Hassan is, she is such a dirty racer. She literally shoved Dibaba on the home straight going into the last lap for no reason. Not the first time she has done this type of stuff.

Agree. Engels looked really good. Could have challenged for 2nd with better positioning. Likely would have run faster in a smaller field. Was surprised Blankenship has been looming so good being like 42 years old. Centro also ran well. Ran conservative and came out with a solid time.
I’m sure gregorek is just tired / used to training 3 hours ahead. Or just an off race. Who knows.
I think Murphy should definitely focus on the 800m and keep sprinkling in the 1500m training as that has worked for him well in the past. I think he needs more time to build the proper strength for the 1500m.
Holy crap ..... 8:20 for Konstanze Klosterhalfen!!!!! Breaks Sonia O'Sullivan's longstanding CWR.

What a nice person she is, helping Dibaba to run faster.
crazy sh i t ....Dibaba ran an outdoor PB today even though she came in 4th.
I think she is incredible form with what she has been doing from 1500-3000m this year.
But good lord, why does she have to freaking front run all the time. If she just holds it for the last lap, she would not run into issues. Hassan runs from the back in every race.
She's stuck though, because Kipyegon is back at 1500m. Dibaba has run 3:55 this year. The WL. If she can maintain that form until the WC, then she will win. However, Faith is a mental monster. And that is difference. Dibaba is fast as hell, but I don't think she is mentally tough like faith and obiri. So she is not able to win with her mind.
Because her brain should tell her not to pedal it in every race in the beginning.
This might have been a break out performance for Gidey. She might be the future for 5000m.
Murphy, Engles,Centro for 1500 the world team. Murphy makes world final with medal contention. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.
Also the Brazilian shot putter?
