Can anyone tell me?
I know it's big in medicine. I know it's the original city of champions (So I am reminded often)

Hard to say without knowing them. But, one guess would be that they must like sh!thole cities in sh!thole states.
Because Millennials. They want someplace cool & hip. The coastal cities aren't 'it' anymore. Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Nashville are the new cool. Authentic, on the rise etc

All of those are sh!thole cities in sh!thole states too. Is it hipster to live in a sh!thole city / state? I don’t know that was the case. Kind of makes sense since hipsters like to dress in the most disgusting & appalling garb!
Must be their new slogan “Pittsburgh: the Biloxi of the Northeast!!!’
Why did you add a comma between subject and verb and double the punctuation?
I am not moving to Pittsburgh, GG

It’s interesting to see Milwaukee included in this list. I grew up there and moved away a long time ago since it wasn’t cool. I’m glad it’s turned a corner but when I visit family I visit the old, un-cool Milwaukee. I have to find this new version.
Might have more to do with housing costs. Those cities have emerging economies and young professionals can still afford homes there.

And what amazing corner of the United States do you hail from?

Go back to your sh!thole. Ya dumb jagoff!
the city of Pittsburgh literally smells..
it smells like the combination of an old persons house (kinda stale) and a faint wafting of sewage. is this just me or anyone else concur?

Geeze Louise! Yinz ever been to Cleveland. It smells way worse.
Actually I know two people who just moved to Pittsburgh as well a couple weeks ago.
If nothing else, Pittsburgh is one of the cheapest big cities to live in the US.
I am pretty sure that is a big factor. I can't see why anybody would want to go to the West Coast anymore with their ridiculous priced real estate.

Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans.
Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
You sure you're not exaggerating?

Sitting in Cleveland now, what the hell are you talking about? Been to Pittsburgh can confirm the stench...

I am from Pittsburgh and agree. No one should move here. Stop moving here. There isn't anything awesome or cool here that would cause people from freaking northern California and Brooklyn to move here by the hoards. Stay where you are.
"Cool" people are heading to second-tier cities, mostly for cost.
Someone told me Milwaukee was the Portland of the Midwest. Sure. It depends on how you feel about Portland.
