How fast could he run a marathon today a few years into retirement? 2:15 at least is my guess.

In the one interview LRC did of Haile a few years after retiring he said he was still doing doubles and running 90+ MPW. So I think he could go sub 2:10 right now.

Some of you are not very bright. Geb is 46 years old. Geb ran 2:08 7 years ago. Geb would struggle to run 2:17 even if he were training full time.

Many say he was 46 years ago, so I really don't think he is 46 now, besides 46 isn't that old to fall off like that. The same goes for Kipchoge because he is thought to be in his mid 40s.

Kipchoge is thought to be in his mid 40s by idiots. Only idiots would believe it.

If Kipchoge is his stated age, he has one of the weirdest progressions of any athlete in history.
Beats the two full throttle EPO goats at age 18, which is his track peak, starts to decline at '22' or so, goes into free fall when he should be at his prime and doesn't even qualify for the Kenyan team, then moves to the road and dominates.
Kipchoge's career makes a lot more sense if you assume two quite reasonable things (given confirmed rampant age cheating and doping in Kenya) - that he is 2 or 3 years older than his stated age, and that he has been taking EPO for two decades.

Finally we can agree on something. Kipchoge may be a bit older than his stated age and Kipchoge is using PEDs. Kipchoge has not likely been on the same PED regimen for two decades, however.

If Kipchoge were 2-3 years older than his stated age, he would still be in his 30s. No one with an IQ above 80 thinks he is 40+ years old.

Goes into free fall? When?
He PRd in the 3000m In 2011 and ran sub 13 indoors that year. I think he won Carlsbad the year before and was runner up in 2011. He then moved to the roads and started tearing it up.
I'd estimate Kipchoge to be 38-41.
Does anyone know what (nearly) two decades of EPO does to the human body?

There have been at least two studies showing anti-aging benefits of EPO. On the whole, the full throttle EPO generation have displayed remarkable longevity, even if they are their stated ages.
Of course, this is explained in the usual way- Africsns are 'diffetent'. It will be interesting to see if the micro-doaing generation can continue into their late 30's.

No way.
Depending on who you want to believe, the half WR for 45-49 is 1:05:01 by Jackson Yegon and the marathon age group record is also held by Jackson Yegon at 2:14:16 (or Kjell-Erik Stahl in 2:15:51, there seems to be disagreement for some reason).
Geb could probably get both of those if he wanted, but I wouldn't think he'd do it by a huge margin. He did run 61 after all at age 40.
He could make the US Olympic ‘Thon Team. Still has sub 2:10 ability without a doubt.
I agree. Saying he goes into free fall is BS. Look at his progression over all distances. He runs 12:50-ish 5000s from 2003-2010, while his best 10,000s are from 2007-2011. First half in 2012, first marathon in 2013. A very normal progression from the track to the roads.

+1, unfortunately Coevett doesn't know anything about anyone not named Sebastian Coe.

You proved his point... Zane is an idiot.
