Has she lost weight since her college days? The 15:08 impresses me.
Can we not do this? Plz. Ever. K. Thanks.

Everyone knows weight has no effect on athletic performance or health

Why can’t we? This is the problem with people these days! Stop being so damn sensitive. When Nick symmonds was competing he openly admitted that when he approached championships he tried to cut a few more points to feel race sharp. Everyone has subtle difference in body type and that’s normal but let’s not sit here and act like cutting a few pounds naturally through hard training and healthy diet doesn’t boost performance. I think denying that and making it a dark untold thing is what causes the issues in the first place. So what, as long as you’re not doing anything unnatural to achieve this effect then be the best you you can be just take care of yourself in the process. Nick symmonds didn’t have an eating disorder trust me.
Look up pics of Shalane Flanagan in college.

Didn’t realize until I watched the video that Abby Dagastino ran under her new name Cooper. 15:21 is that her 1st race since injury?
She’s raced probably 4 or so times. But I think this is her first 5k since the injury.
The PRs in that race were Stanford-like: Coogan 15:30 to 15:14, Neale 15:21 to 15:11 (following up er 4:09 last month), Taylor/Johnson 15:54 to 15:19!
Purrier looked crazy comfortable with a 67 final lap.
Oh and NB continues to do the Lord's work with their women's kit.
This statement alone, sure/maybe. This statement in the context of LRC, absolutely not. There is way too much focus on the appearance of women and their weight on these boards. A thread like this should be to credit the runner of their achievement not to have a bunch of men gather to talk about a woman's weight.

All I see are people crediting her with a great race. It's also natural, as fans of the sport, to say "I wonder what factors led to such a great race", and to discuss potential factors.
What the above said. This statement in the context of LRC's pervasive culture of making inappropriate comments about women and their bodies takes it beyond sensitivity. Let's focus on fostering a better culture towards athletes' bodies onn here. Elinor has been training really hard, and whatever training program seems to be working very well for her, and we are seeing the results of that. Let's appreciate her strong results and confidence in racing.

Oh...just take out all the serious running stuff.
I think it's six US w' who have broken 15:00. Maybe I'm short-changing some?
You've got to get in the right race in Europe to do it and then it will be there for Purrier I'm sure. I still think it's going to be a tough conversion --5k--for her. But we shall see after she develops a top notch distance base?

She ran 15:08 in June at a B meet. She should have no trouble getting into any 5000 and should be under 15:00 and 4:00 this season. She is a phenomenal talent who could be doing things akin to Shelby Houlihan very soon.
fast and thicc
