Sure celebrate all you want if that's your thing playing against a team that doesn't have the level of play as you. Just don't take it hard when the same treatment happens to your team in the later rounds. Yes it's classless but not against any rules. A lot of this sort of thing going on these days. Didn't realize there was a world cup soccer tournament going on by the way. This really isn't news is it?

But what does someone important like Steven A. Smith think about this?

I think if an American men's team was clowning around up 13 to 0 the reaction might even be bigger than it is for the US women.
Never gonna happen. Have you seen the men's team play?
Next match against Chile, the USWNT should either go stone-cold no celebrations, or break this out...all or nothing.

Peter had a couple moves in there very similar to Rapinoe's whirling around, wonder if she may have caught a re-run recently?
or just dont suck. this is the world cup, not some 10 year old game
Sorry Abby Wambach but the Canadiens are spot on...winning by that much and celebrating each goal like they've won the entire cup was ridiculous. It's not sexist. Did you consider the young girls fromThailand that had to watch that? The Americans humiliated that team. HUMILIATED. Because let's face it...the culture of soccer in the US is about aggression and bullying. I mean you have a past player that's banned because she beat the day lights out of members of her family. Face it...the culture of soccer for girls in the US has changed from the classiness of Hamm,Lily,Mcmillian,Overback,Fowdy etc. to idiolizing aggression.
This is why I love running...seeing Abby diagistino picking up a competitor on the track during the olympics with a blown knee. Though you'll still get your characters in women's running but generally there's a high standard of sportsmanship at the professional level (minus individuals who dope).
And just to add it took a heck of a lot more bravery and courage for Thailand to show up for the second half when they knew even a tie would be a long shot and to continue playing until the end as the US kept scoring and celebrating without reserve.
This guy probably pump fists after scoring on a PreK kid.

Those opposed to the USWNT celebrations = finisher medals
Those in favor of the USWNT celebrating however they please = champions
I have no opinion.
Problem is that Thailand is not top level competition. Celebrate like hell against a top 5 team, but leave these yearning and prideful minnow teams alone. Thailand qualified, but they should really not be in the World Cup.
After Brazil-Australia, no one will remember the last match.
The Rapinoe celebration was ridiculous.
If the men did this I think the reaction would be even worse so to say it's sexist I think is just ridiculous.
Give a high five and run back to the halfline. FIFA should say any goal differential over 5 doesn't count so their isn't incentive to run it up.
Thailand should shut its defense down and allow Sweden 27 goals
I’ll be rooting for Chile and Sweden against the team that purports to represent the USA
Rapinoe celebrates the same way in friendlies, so I don't think one can draw too much from this game. She seems to feel she has to get in on every celebration. Not sure if that is just her style, if it is because she is an elder stateswoman or if she is trying to draw attention to her cause.
Thailand should have invested more into training players at home if they expected to not get crushed in the world cup. Maybe now they'll see it pays to invest in sport, at least if people are going to be watching this on tv in Thailand, though I expect most of the watchers are probably emigrants to the west.

So I guess she’s completely classless.
Somehow I expected more out of Morgan but apparently she’s cut from the same cloth

Scoring was fine.
Celebrating was obnoxious.
That’s just me.
No worse than the NFL, NBA, or MLB. (Those are the three I watch!)
Why should we expect women to be any different.
Thailand obviously is not that good at soccer. Why does the USA think scoring against them is an achievement?
Sad, but typical of our current society.
