I’ll give you one thing, OP: you’ve managed to make everyone on LR agree on something, which is no small accomplishment.

you jamin's bro?
If you're old enough to drink beer then you need to be a man and get your own place. Abide by your parents rules since you are a little kid in their house!

Alcoholism is a serious issue, one that destroys lives and is very hard to beat. Your brother probably has a serious problem that could ruin his life. I get it, you can control your drinking, its lame if you have to go out to a bar or restaurant just to have a drink after work. But your brother is family. Does your desire to have a few drinks really trump your brother's well being? I assume you're like early 20s. Look, you'll move out soon right. Until then, because of your brother's issues, you should just not keep alcohol at the house. Even if you don't like your brother that much, you should do it because its the right thing to do.

For this OP douche bag...yes.
"Here I'm a grown man" ...living with his parents and complaining about their rules. Nothing spells LOSER better.

No, I can't do it. My mom told me no, when I asked her.
You're a troll!
The end stage of an alcohol problem is death. If you got your way, you may find yourself deeply regreting your selfish attitude in 20 years time. Your parents see the bigger picture. They also probably think that (unless you have a problem?) it is really not much of a sacrifice to keep beer out the house.
If the OP wants to drink at home, just sneak it in. Your bro sounds like an alcoholic. Lemme tell you, alcoholics find booze. They'll hide it too. The only way your parents can stop him from drinking is by keeping him on house arrest so he can never go out. Lol I get a kick outta the ppl here saying that not having it around the house will at least make a difference... Uhm no. Obviously not a lot of alcoholics on this board.
It seems like the OP sees not being able to drink at home a huge problem. Maybe the OP's brother isn't the only one obsessed with alcohol.
Addiction runs in families.
I got out of college in 2006, and made 25k a year as journalist for 2 years. Stayed at the paper until '14 and was making 30k a year.
Went to a call center and made 32k a year in Columbus (moved from Geauga County). I felt richer. I now make 53k a year as a software dev at Accidenture and it's more than I've ever made.
Most junior devs don't start out at 70k unless they are on the coasts or are super-experienced to begin with.

You seriously asking? Your parents house their rules. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out pansy ass!
You can't make a sacrifice to help even your own brother?
9/10.
Excellent trolling. Almost every commenter seems to be patting themselves on the back for their amazing detective skills in deducing that you are a grown man living with his parents. No one can resist sharing the fact that they unlocked this amazing puzzle and figured you out.
And THAT is how you get a boatload of earnest comments on a troll thread. Nicely done.
If you loved your brother you'd give up drining too.
Like The Eagles sang: “...every point of refuge has its price.” Yours is “no alcohol.”
