As far as the interview: Arrogant? No, not arrogant in the least. Funny? Yes, funny for that first sentence b/c it's obviously a "wait, that first part sounded weird moment." That follow-up about "pretty low in that department (or whatever)", is a bit too self-deprecating and compliment-angling for me.
As far as her looks: She's objectively cute. She's shorter than average and has a rounder face so she definitely looks younger than other fast female college runners. Come to think of it, she actually looks more like a high school runner to me. I would not guess she's what? 23? 24? But she's not unattractive.
I'm happy for her. She's a gritty runner and seems down-to-earth. She won the race and a national title in a PR time in hot weather, answered a bunch of questions pretty well while fighting off heatstroke, and then doubled back in the 5000 a little over an hour later, right? Good on her.
