It's great that he's getting in shape again so he can get back out there and DNS or DNF. I'm pretty sure he's dropped from more races over the past few years than actually finished.

I can't find the thread, but I recall that it was more about how few months of training he puts in rather than his mileage or intensity. I am not saying that I believe it, but it was interesting coming from someone who knows him well.
I can't help thinking that old and lazy Bekele will still always be faster than Galen Rupp at his best, who in turn is faster than anyone else in the U.S.A.
