Does this mean she won't race the 3k at Pre? That would be the only reason I would be mad about this ruling

To be honest, I hope she still runs the 3k. I was quite interested to see what kind of time she could put together.
Where is the real women’s rights movement? wrote:
Good bye female athletics.
Good bye to what advances females have worked hard for in sport.
PC culture is the demise of it all.
I actually blame female athletes for not taking charge of their own destiny, not making a stand for their rights. Why do they race against these guys? Where are all the women’s rights movements on this? They seem to jump on men with reckless abandon, can’t they understand what having a Y chromosome competing in sports means to female sport?
Too bad ladies.
Spot on. My sentiments exactly!

As there is a DL 800m race at Pre, I suspect she will run the 800m there. But maybe she runs the 2000m in France next? week.
The idea that a person's current testosterone level should be the standard for determining gender is ridiculous. Not only does Semenya have higher testosterone than "regular" women, Semenya has less body fat, more muscle, better aerobic capacity, narrower hips which confers better leg alignment, a larger heart, more Type 2 muscle fibers for strength and speed, etc., because she was born a male. Lowering her testosterone level won't affect these benefits.
Are we ignoring the panoply of benefits being born male gives an athlete?
That said, universal participation in sports is important. I don't know the answer.
Do you really think faster times make a race more exciting to anyone but the hardcore fan? Unless there is some significant time barrier the public can understand like sub 4 or sub 2hrs most people could care less and the average person has no increased enjoyment from a 1:55 race as opposed to a 1:57. The reason track and field isn't more popular is the lack of coverage and quality coverage. And the lack of personalities and rivalries to draw people to the sport. Semenya wouldn't be much of a draw for the sport unless it is about the controversy associated with her situation.
Your point that Wilson has monetary gain due to things like record bonuses is the most laughable point. Wilson and others have lost way more to the women with this condition in race winnings and championship medal bonuses than they've gotten in NR and time incentives. Ask Ajee what she'd rather have, the 2017 WC Gold or her AR. I won't put words in her mouth but if it were me, the WC Gold no question.

She can choose to run with either men or women, separate awards in either scenario.
They day women's sports died. I look forward to watching more men racing as women at the highest levels. What a great day for sports.

All biological females need to boycott any race Semenya enters. This circus needs to end.
This will never happen
It worked for men in 1973. 1973 Wimbledon boycott. 80 ATP (tennis union) players boycotted Wimby, including defending champ Stan Smith.
IT CAN BE DONE!

Hot take: I actually think Semenya makes the 800 more interesting.
Hotter take: Shooting rubber (or real) bullets at the competitors from a helicopter would also make the 800 more interesting. That's hardly a justification for doing it. Races are for the athletes, not for the dimwitted slavering fans.
I've always enjoyed the water jump (albeit steeplechase). In fact, having bigass hurdles which could cause significant injury was a good reason to watch an otherwise boring sideshow event. Now add barbed wire and impaling to the hurdles and deadly sh!t in the water-jump. Random mines situated in Lane 2 to make overtaking interesting and to reward front-runners.

The Swiss are only good at making watches and chocolate. Why should they have a say in this matter? These people should be ashamed of themselves. Tough scene.

Then again, their army is notoriously afraid to fight in wars.
I would say "I told you so" but since everything I write here seems to get removed, there is no evidence of that; however, I did tell you so.
There is no way a ruling like what CAS did can stand. You cannot say that something it discrimination but it's discrimination for the greater good. Well, actually you can say anything you want, but that doesn't make it legal or enforceable. They had no choice but to stay enforcement of this until it's made it's way back through the courts.
This is not the same issue as the transgender issue, I happen to be 100% against transgenders running with women. Caster is not transgender and I've tried to explain why this is different but people are so ignorant that any attempt quickly becomes a $hit show. You cannot ban XY DSD and not XX DSD if high testosterone is really what you are after. You cannot ban XY DSD and not XX DSD if you don't want "males" running with women, it won't work. You cannot ban XY DSD and not XX DSD if you don't want people with testicles running with people that don't have testicles, XX DSD have them too. The IAAF completely missed the mark and they will eventually be forced to start from scratch because their plan will never be implemented because it's devoid of sound scientific fact, fundamentally flawed and contradictory to it's stated goal.
And now, a word from our sponsor!
Time to get triggered haters!
#letcasterrun
Congratulations to Caster
The Female Category 800m is saved (for now).
I'm going to say it, I HATE Caster.
Caster has gone to college and clearly should have the intelligence to understand that "she" has a mammoth advantage over XX women. And Caster doesn't care, it's all about the MONEY.
IAAF should create a new division for non CS women. And award different prizes, lower prize money etc.
Call it an "awards" division, and let them race with real women if needed, and have TWO DIFFERENT PODIUMS, because, duh, they are really two different categories of "women."

Yet there's an entire thread all pissed off about older men using testosterone as an advantage for recovery and athletic performance. So, which is it? Should we let the women in CS events use testosterone without reservation or limit? Or should CS run with the men- the category in which XY designates?
Let us first solve men in their fifties racing sub-17:30 5K/sub-36 10K while getting a turbo boost from T-meds before we ban high T-women in random middle distance events.
I think a major reason why women aren’t boycotting races where Semenya is entered in is that they’re worried about being seen as discriminatory and potentially losing sponsorship money. That being said, I agree that something needs to be done, but that responsibility shouldn’t fall on the athletes.
Methinks these anti-Semenya comments are tinged with a bit of racism.

What makes me mad is the IAAF delayed implementation of the rules allowing her to compete in the interim with the idea that everyone would adhere to the CAS decision and the decision would be swift. But after delays in the CAS ruling and then even after the ruling allowing her to run one more time, she’s still crying and here we go again with the legal challenges.
I hope people stop with the “Semenya has emerged as role model....” crap because now she is acting like a whining baby that lost her toy.
"She," didn't lose "her" toy, "she" lost access to prize money and free travel etc.
Caster is a disgrace. Complete lack of consciousness, kindness, or ethics.
And "she' married a woman. Shock.
Apple and oranges, you right wingnut.
Gay people are going to have relationships anyway, they just wanted the right to make them legal, for purposes like having the right to visit their dying partner in the hospital etc. And, a single gay couple are not preventing you from having a hetero marriage.
Caster is preventing XX women from reaching the top of their sport.
Marijuana is favored by massive swaths of society to be legalized. No one is forcing you to take or use it. And frankly, if it is a problem or risk for your children, then you haven't parented well.
This type of court action is nearly always granted - to suspend a ruling - in order that a full appeal can be held. It doesn't mean that Semenya will win her appeal against the IAAF overall or eventually. Its just a suspension so that the appeal can go ahead.
Obviously not ideal for womens' athletics, but its a procedural step. Presumably the IAAF didn't waste its resources in defending the suspension of the ruling, saving them instead for the actual appeal.
