I will tip you if you bring me my food on a plate, fill my water glass and take my plate away when I'm done. I will not tip you if you take a bagel off a shelf and put it in a bag. You fancy white touch screen with a smiley face and suggested tip percentage will not sway me. Sorry.
Here’s my story, I used to live off tips by working at a high end car wash & it was always nice bringing home money. However, i sweat my ass off for each tip & sometimes people didn’t tip. I’ve seen a lot of new places who ask for a tip on their iPad register & you’re thinking, do you really deserve it?? Local coffee shops are always good to tip because if you go there often they’ll remember you & make your drink nice. Servers & restaurants workers deserve tips the most in my opinion because they work long hours & receive minimum wage.
Now, I work for commission bonuses which is better than tips in my opinion because you dictate the percentage & it all depends on the amount of work you put in. Tipping others makes other people’s day as well. Think about that.
