I brought up the 10 guilty people go free vs. one innocent person principle because I think think it's a good philosophy, whether it's a trial or not. What is behind that principle is what I was getting at, and was arguing should be applied on message boards too - that is fairness. You obviously don't care about fairness at all. Armstronglivs thinks that every second guy is doping is masters (quote below), so he think's its his job to drag any good performance through the mud, even if he might acknowledge that he may have a 50/50 chance of being wrong (I think there's a much, much higher chance he's wrong). He is actively trying to apply the social aspects of punishment, probably 50 percent of the actual punishment someone would get if they actually cheated and were caught - badmouthing someone on a worldwide platform - without an offense being committed.
As a 50 year old, I think 4:19 is a great performance for the individual, but is very weak as a record. It just doesn't seem fast. I personally don't feel that old yet at 50 to where the slowdown from open WR to 50+ WR should be 35 seconds. It should be more like half that, 4:00-4:05 if the all time greats were actually interested. A neighbor I was talking to a few months back remarked during a conversion, "You're still young". I asked her how old she thought I was, and she guessed 20s or 30s. There appears to be only a tiny, tiny pool of 50+ guys really racing on the track - low enough that they probably all heard of each other if not met each other personally. I'd argue that masters track is 10x to 100x less competitive that ultras.
