1) Imogen Stewart keeps improving. She PRed in the 3k and Mile in Dec/Nov 2018 (9:15, 4:44) at age 13 which are both age-graded WRs.
2) We should never let rare exceptions define the standard for our young athletes. Yes, Mary Cain got worse. Yes, Kate Murphy got worse. Yes, Claudia Lane got worse. Yes, Efraimson got worse. But those are just EXCEPTIONS, not the norm.
Hasay was a HUGE HS phenom. She was literally lighting up the running world on fire from age 12 on, continued in her late 20s and is still going very strong.
Flanagan, Hall, you could mention many others here, all made it. The amount of people who were great at HS and became national class far exceed those of who were mediocre at HS and then suddenly became a star.
Does everyone who runs great at HS become a great pro? No, but the majority of our best runners have still been great HS runners.
Therefore, stop saying our current "phenoms" Tuohy, Mu, Wolfgram or Puffer on men's side will end up like Cain and co, when they can very well end up like Hasay and co.
