Once the Dibabas(any of them) or Bolt's records get thrown out I'll believe that something is being done about rampant doping, until then its just $moke and mirrors$.

Great take! Simple and to the point, and very true.
I'm shocked, yes shocked I say.

The fact that Khalid Khannouchi now has like the 75th fastest marathon time ever is just laughable. This recent wave of 2:03/2:04 times are all aided by the marinara sauce. Don't give me this nonsense about "younger athletes doing the marathon sooner" or some other line of BS. These are doped times.
Lord Coe is smart to axe the 5/10k on the track. Complete freakshow events. Cheats like "Rhonex" can chase 26:40 or whatever on the road. Keep this fake shiz off the track.
Yes, keep track for American sprinters on roids.
Does road running need to go the direction of body building and have separate events for "natural" athletes and others for the dirty athletes? How entertaining would it be to see a sub 2 hour marathon, a sub 26:00 10K, etc. ? You would just need to pay more for the natural events to cover the 3rd party testing agency to certify the event as natural (and have a requirement that samples be frozen and make prize fees subject to revocation if the athlete fails a test within 2 years of the competition).

Even "natural" bodybuilding is dirty.

Aren't they drug tested? ?
I had no idea how easy it was to get testosterone and how many men at local gyms are on it. Once I started to research because I thought I had all the symptoms of someone with low T, there were several easy ways to get it and with decent insurance i was able to get enough to get my numbers up and some left over for my friends. I bet there are several men over 30 in local road races are on it. no i dont compete in races so i am not cheating, my body just cant handle running anymore

What I'd really like to see is a system where every participant in a race checks a box when they enter a race - they either select "competitor" or "participant." If you pick competitor, you're subject to all the rules about headphones, no outside assistance, and doping. In exchange, you're also eligible for awards, and to qualify for Boston, NYC, etc. If you pick participant, then you can take your ADHD drugs, have a friend hand you a water bottle, etc. But, though you get a time, you can't win anything.
I really think that's the best way to handle this stuff - much better than the current system of International/National/non-National/recreational athletes, which is really hard to decipher.
+1 - 100% agree

The WR times for the dirty athletes would be the same, or very similar to the existing WRs, because they were all already run on PEDs. And a “natural” category would probably not be that effective, since athletes would be able to beat the tests just like they do today.
That being said, I do think an “all drug Olympics” would be entertaining. Athletes could be sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Too bad BALCO is no longer in existence, people would be lining up to sign with them, lol.
That's funny if they would be sponsored by pharma - imagine the multi-million dollar contracts that would be offered. The betting would be unreal. Do you think Amgen would be a big player? Lol.

I can already imagine their logo on a singlet.
https://www.industryweek.com/sites/industryweek.com/files/styles/article_featured_retina/public/uploads/2014/07/amgen-logo-f.jpg?itok=wImfqz82i think the steroid and drug problem is worse in sprinting, and field events, than it is in distance running, although many(perhaps even most elites) middle and long distance athletes are on drug programs.

Years ago, bekele and geb closed a 10k with a sub 13 5k. Knowing how rare a sub 13 5 k is in this day and age; and considering that was the height of the epo era, I'll let the reader draw his/her own conclusions.

You had me until the "some left over for my friends" bit. 0/10

And there are idiots here claiming that the WRs would be the same if the top runners could still EPO like it was 2004.
Thats actually the truth, right now I have 29 bottles in my closet saved up. they send me 6 bottles every 2 months and i use maybe 3. My numbers were already high enough so I dont use as much as I could. My friend doesnt have the insurance or money to get it so I give him some.....

Usually you can't be all full rocket sauce mode at track races like road races. I predict a 27:20-27:40 time for him.
And some of you wonder why Wanders run mediocre times on the track and run sub 60 minutes for the half on the road.
Exactly, we all know the sport is filthy but when is the last time someone turned up at a Diamond League meeting glowing? Explains his performance.

+1 so, so true.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
