Reportedly a coach will be along with Proctor next year, no word yet on his/her identity, but I can’t think of a coach who acts like last year’s crew.
Again, the Gaudets were there, supposedly, but never left any account, even afterwards.

Specifically I don’t know any coaches who are anonymous or even hesitant to discuss the performances of their athletes, unlike, for instance, every single person in last year’s event.
Never even heard an analysis from Proctor in his interviews, other than the classic, “I was doing great until that injury...”
Of course it was one of those injuries that you never see in multiday. It came out of nowhere; it was “severe”; incurable; unprecedented; blah blah blah.
Subsequently, the injury completely disappeared & Proctor is back with another “record.”
So dramatic! There’s no time, surely, with all these records, to do any training or preparation (boring!).
Just YouTubed “1989 Westfield Run” for some classic multiday footage. Several other Westfield/Sydney-Melbourne runs are there as well.
Standeven looks gone as he’s supported at the finish, 113 miles a day or so!
A new idea for this thread. Never mind, I don't think anyone else is reading anyway...
There are a few Al Howie vids on YouTube as well, but mostly from people who made pilgrimages to see him at the senior center. One notes that he was “the youngest guy there.”
When you see Al floored by diabetes (same as Don Ritchie), you might realize only a creep would try to steal his record.
I’m just glad every fake attempt to steal Al Howie’s record is being done for charity. Since the record itself is out of reach, we might as well get SOMETHING out of it!
Looking ahead to Six Days in the Dome, several entrants are very familiar with Al & me. Big chance to do a little opposition research!
Since Al was a resident alien of Canada ??, I guess we could call his record (if you ever saw Star Trek VI & the Penal Colony of Ruropente), “The Resident Alien’s Graveyard.”
You won’t die there, but you’ll wish you were dead!
Proctor is entered in Big’s Backyard as well. Laz knows me since my first ultra in ‘88. We had our disagreements over Robert Young (Laz was there). Again, many you will meet can certainly help with opposition research against me!
Proctor will also have the option of asking some of the dozen or so transcon runners whom I’ve crewed, beyond the 93 in my races. Literally over a hundred people to help with the opposition research.
Be sure to diss them for being too old, ha ha.
4Z, who questioned my command of numbers here, dissed Canaday for being 5 years past his prime!
Just got a faster time today at Comrades! Hate math much?
4Z: what did Canaday’s GPS day?
Now that 4Z has dissed Canaday & Tron has dissed Kouros, we’re getting quite a collection of Proctor “believers” who are full of sh!t.
Clearly we need some new anonymous handles!

Why are you posting this on your Proctor thread? Trying to boost your thread's post count?
I didn't diss Sage. I guessed he would place 23rd at Comrades. He placed 22nd overall and 21st male, so I made a really good, educated guess. Far closer than the others guessing in the other thread.
See the wikipedia article for Sage, which lists his ultra wins. I said his best ultra years were 2013-2014 because those were the years where he had his most and biggest ultra wins. He was voted #3 for North American Ultra Runner of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, which I believe are his best rankings in that voting. So saying that 2013-2014 were his prime years (up to now) is factually correct.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sage_Canaday4Z, you must have amnesia.
You dared me to drive out & prove Proctor cheated (since he quit about 10 minutes later, you were hardly a psychic).
You called me a troll, which also makes you a liar because a troll is anonymous (first day on the Internet last year?).
Can’t wait for Raddison & That Average Runner to admit they lied, too. Sorry, boys.

OK, I remember that now. What's wrong with asking you to consider doing that? I don't know your situation, whether that is retirement or work or free time, but I thought that was a reasonable thing at least ask you to consider, so you can decide if you are able to do so. The idea was based on Laz going to follow Rob Young.
I think I'm at least half accurate with calling you a troll. You were posting inflammatory accusations that you couldn't back up, fighting everyone that responded to you, and therefore blowing up the thread, and seemingly attention seeking. A troll doesn't have to be anonymous. That isn't in the definition of internet troll.
Where I may be off on the label of troll is that the emotional responses were all on your side instead others. The person/people who have described your actions in those thread as "unhinged" therefore have chosen a better description than me.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_trollExactly, you lied, because all I did was ask for the accountability that Guinness actually requires (such as non-anonymous records, which we still don’t have). Everyone argued about whether Proctor was ahead/behind pace; we proved he was behind by consulting the original (verified by Guinness) record, using the TOWN names.
You don’t know what you are talking about, 4Z.
