Who cares?
Bottom line, proctor is competitive (but certainly not world-class) up to 2-3 days, but is incapable of performing longer.
A sure cure would be to actually FINISH longer runs, especially trans-Canada. The length of this run ensures that your body is forced to adjust.
The saying in Trans Am was, “The running doesn’t get easier, but the runners get tougher.”
Reportedly the trans-Canada record attempt is officially cancelled due to coronavirus. Awaiting official confirmation.
Postponed to 2021, per OutRun FB. Can’t believe 30 years will have passed!
Convenient excuse but I am sure the plan was the meet thousandths of people every day after a 70 mile run.
So now there is big coverage of Proctor’s “Quarantine Backyard Ultra Race.” It has its own thread, so we’ll move over there for now.

Good luck Dave! Don’t let the haters get you down!
A strange comment, given your handle?
Whatever one’s take on the Quarantine Backyard event, I personally felt the organizers succeeded in their goals.
Dare I admit it, Proctor can certainly promote a legitimate event better than me. Chapeau.
Don’t let it go to your head, please, and start raving, “I’m gonna beat Al Howie’s record by a week!” etc.

Everybody can do better than you, it's not hard.

But I love you Jesse. Dedicating your life to smearing the reputation of an ultra runner who wants to break the record of your hero .... what a noble calling.
Thanks for the compliment. I’m sure my successful critique of Proctor must make it seem like dedication; but I accomplish many other things in the sport, both praiseworthy & heavily criticized in their turn.

Laughs. Thanks for the jokes.
The guy makes it sound like he is an olympian when he is some low level ultra joggers.
Actually I’m getting inside information & it’s not at all positive for the Quarantine event.
Tron is weighing in on the “Coolest or weakest” thread. It’s never been proved that he’s actually Travis Schiller-Brown, the RD of Quarantine.

Whatever happened to this guy? Haven't seen him in a while.
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
