Cotton is the best. If really hot shirt comes off anyways. Artificial materials in the tech shirts can't be good for the skin and feel bad/smell.
I only wear cotton for casual wear, Birdwell makes it's cotton shirts in the USA and they look and feel great.
When it's hot why wear a shirt while running ?
On the shirt topic, I read in some article somewhere "10 things that show you're a beginner runner" or something.
One of them was, wearing a t-shirt. "Singlet if it's not freezing, long sleeve t if it is."
I've been a midpacker since 1995 and have only worn singlets while racing in highschool and university.
I'm pretty sure they're off base and just looking for content. In this thread it seems like most people are running in t-shirts too.
I usually run in a polyester t shirt, a lot of the time one of the knockoff soccer jerseys I bought in China while there for a year.

If it’s not cold enough that I need to wear a long sleeve, I often just don’t bother with a shirt but it’s more a laundry minimizing strategy than anything else.
I prefer wearing thin organic cotton t shirt uk ( undershirts) to tech shirts, especially when it gets hot. I stay cooler because they get wet. A lot cheaper too.

Agree. I always train in cotton t-shirts but for racing in warm weather I use a tech singlet. Cotton T-shirts are underrated for running.
