I had a good track season through the first half but then started struggling and found out that I was iron deficient along with some other stuff. I just finished state and it went pretty poorly and am going to take my break leading into xc. I’ll be a senior this next year and want to get up to 70 mpw over the summer (I probably averaged around 50 this last year with a healthy amount of 60s). Does it matter if I take just one week or two? I’m eager to run so it’s not like I need a huge mental break, but in your guys experience is it better to take a longer break before getting into some big training blocks and upping the mileage or does it not matter?
