Can someone explain this? Is she just way more motivated as she can now clean up or is something amiss with the hormone treatment? Normally there is a giant drop in performance.
How do her fellow competitors feel about the competition?
I mean it's kind of laughable right. Last year, she was a very poor athlete on the men's team. Now she's #2 on the NCAA on the women's team.
I'm glad that you pasted these. After seeing her dominate a women's race especially in the last portion, I looked at the times and noticed the same thing. Who is supposed to monitor the hormone treatment?? Is it on the honor system? No way is this a suppressed testosterone athlete. Of note CeCe's times were not that great at Indoor DII compared to the season- were hormones temporarily lowered for NCAA Indoor drug testing?
Obviously we aren't mice but the odds are that the muscle that were built up over the previous decade in high test environment don't fade away overnight or even a year. Testosterone doesn't make you fast. The body it helps to builds does.
We also have no clue what exactly Cece is doing. My understanding is that Testorterone supression is relatively quick but the effects of estrogen take 2-4 years to really show up depending on the effect. We could just be looking at period before everything kicks in. Or maybe that part of the therapy hasn't even started yet.

There is no requirement under Iaaf rules for this person to have “ treatment”.

I'm sure that most are not okay with it at all, but they are socially conditioned to be polite and not to agonise others. Men on the other hand are less bothered about what others think - which is why transgender women (i.e. men) have no shame about taking women's spaces in sporting events or just generally taking over women's roles in any sphere.

Professional women runners depend on their sponsors to keep living the lifestyle they're training for.
Thus I'm sure they prefer to keep focusing on their own personal running, and to try to not get involved in politics.
Also, when women speak up they are often attacked for doing so. Thus they tend to try and stay
away from political controversies. For example, look at how women are attacked on here for just running.

I believe this is where things are going. 1 category. 1 division. No handicapping. It's inevitable. An even playing field. A pure meritocracy. It will happen well before the end of this century.
You know what will happen a century from now? Someone will wish for a sporting competition open only to women, who will not have been competing at all for a couple generations. Someone will put together a female Olympics. It will be considered ground-breaking.

Second, Telfer's college coach, Zac Emerson, sent out a tweet today extolling the freedoms of the United States and tied them in to allowing a transgender athlete to compete. In response, a coach from another school commented that Telfer couldn't cut it as a male athlete and that it was unfair for male athletes to compete against women. In reply, Emerson told the other coach that his comments were "unacceptable for a college track coach" and that he was going to demand the administration of the other coach's school explain his behavior. Guess the freedoms Coach Emerson wants to extoll don't include the right of free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment!

By your own logic, you are infringing upon Coach Emerson's right of free speech.
Freedom of speech protects citizens from being put in jail by the government. Nobody is doing that, Coach Emerson is just pointing out that the other coach's comments likely don't align with the mission statement of the other university. Coach Emerson is a PATRIOT to stick up for his own athlete and call out the bigots who attack her.

Sorry, but what the right to free speech means in this in context includes the right of an employee of a public school to comment about matters of public concern, even if those comments don't align with the mission statement of his employer.
And I'm not trying infringe Coach Emerson's exercising his first amendment rights at all, just pointing out that he is a first class HYPOCRITE for trying to get another coach in trouble for doing so.
