Kelati casually closes in 4:40 for her last mile. Wow.......Should be a fun ncaa meet! I hope the 5k goes nuts from the gun. NCAA record could be in danger.
Wow, Kurgat didn’t even make the 5k! Looks like all of her eggs are in the 10K. Lobo women qualified lots of potential points in the distances still.

Well Kelati will be doubling back from the 10k and Ostrander will only have 90 min recovery time and Kurgat out so might not get the fast race we want. Jones will hope to keep it slow.
I hope Kelati and Ostrander get to race each either fresh in a championship next year. I think we'll see it in the 10k.
Would be interesting to see them battle for the 5k/10k double next spring. They both seem to handle doubling well. Ostrander seems to like new challenges so i could see her calling 3 titles in the steeple good.
Tyler Day, fastest time during regular season doesn’t advance to the final in the 5k
Wow that was a slow 5k. Guys depending on speed to get in.
Beamish with a 55 second last lap.
3 guys fighting for the 4th and 5th spots within 1 hundredth of a second.
Clayton Young sneaks in!
Wow!! that is one scary 5k semifinal. Enough talent, it looked like a final.
Fischer with a 54 second last lap. Nice performance by Ratcliffe, Teare, and Mantz securing those auto qualifiers behind the greats.

So it makes no sense to cover the Olympic Trials? that's basically just a prelim meet.
Frustrating that once again LetsRun blows off the entire NCAA season.
it's funny, FloTrack and Stride Report seemed to think the prelims mattered.
No one will care about the finals if you don't cover the season.
1) We are covering it. I'm covering it right here on the messageboard. I thought it deserved more coverage so I created a thread and made it the #1 thing on the messageboard.
2) Don't be a jerk and try to compare the NCAA Olympic Trials to the NCAA regionals.
3) What the hell is the stride report?
4) Flotrack is covering it? Yes because they are broadcasting it and charging you $30 per month recurring to watch it.
A message board is coverage?

Apparently it is if you make it the #1 message board topic, lol.
Pretty good running by Massachusetts HS products, Hogan 10k, McNulty 10k, Edwards 1500, Ratcliffe 5k, small state with big results.
Brody Hasty with a clutch last lap to make it in the 5k!
This was my first time at the NCAA regionals and I have to say the meet was compelling. The distance talent in the West region is incredible. Most of the West qualifiers in distance events will be in the mix to score at nationals. Morgan McDonald closing the 5k in 55 and coasting the last 50m was impressive. Morgan in 5k and Obsa Ali in steeple have to be solid favorites. I think LR misses the boat by not covering the regionals.
25 high for Fishers last 200m
They were all racing. Macdonald and Tearre eventually shut it down after realizing they weren’t catching Fisher
It is not a small state. Population is 7M and the US population is 327M which puts the average state at 6.5M.
What event is Soren running at nationals?

Sinclaire Johnson runs away with heat 2 in 4:09.5...wire-to-wire ,fastest time of the day..wins heat by 4 seconds
Yes, I've said since this time last year that this lass will be a future NCAA Champ. She closed that race in 62 seconds off an already decent pace and her form is so efficient and smooth, even at higher speed.
I don't get why all the media are handing Jessica Hull the title already. I think Johnson can do it and maybe her performance this weekend will put doubts in their heads. I wouldn't write off Millie Paladino for the title either. She paces herself well but doesn't always get it right.
Kelati was the definition of clutch. A 4:40 last mile in the 5k? As long as Kelati is recovered from the 10,000 there's no way that Allie O can live with that in Austin, even fully rested.

Spencer Brown must have fell or something, he was in it with 350 to go then all of the sudden he was way back.
No he did not fall. He just was out run by the whole field. He just simply ran out of gas.I saw the video, and when the kicking started he could not responded.
Noah Perkins (UNF) qualifying for the 5k on his home track in the east! First male track athlete from North Florida to make it to D1 Nats

OK, not a small state, but one 7th the size of Cali and when you consider almost a third of the US population is in four states (Cal., Texas, FLA, NY) it produces some solid distance talent.
George Masons 4x4 came in ranked 20th and finished 5th. They came in with a 3:08.99 seed and ran 3:05.02. Their anchor ran a 44.79 split.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
