I'm a 26 year old male, and am training to run around 2:10 for 800m in 4-6 weeks. Had a few questions I was hoping the smart people on letsrun would graciously give input or perspective on:
1) Is this a decent time for someone who's been running close to 2 years now and never ran before that?
2) what time would I have to be able to run a 500 or 600 in @ close to all out effort to get an indication that I'm in 2:10 shape?
3) and are there any especially good workouts I could try to maximize the chances of my fitness being where I want it to in 6 weeks? If it helps, I think that while both my speed and endurance need work, my speed is more important to get in the necessary shape. If I had to guess I could run 200m in 27.xx right now ( I do plan on time trialing soon to get a definite idea)
Thank you very much, any answers greatly appreciated (ridicule directed at my sloth-like speed is as well lol)
