Some background: I am a high school cross country and distance track runner. My first injury occurred suddenly, in my lower back, and I did not feel fully better until 33 days after. In fact, it was healed just as quickly as it was injured. I did a long run and progressively the pain just went away altogether. After returning to running, I had 28 days of healthy running (with some mild flare-ups in between), but I followed the same pattern before my injury (lack of sleep, yo-yo nutrition habits, 70-80 mpw) Also, as a 17-year female I have not had my period in over a year. Now, my second injury occurred suddenly like the last one, but it is in my right pelvic region and sometimes the pain radiates to just under my glute. It has been 33 days of no running and my first run back I continue to feel pain. What is going on with me? Should I continue to wait? Is this a stress fracture? Any feedback would be appreciated!
